A great foil for Harry. Sometimes seems to get by through dumb luck, but always gives of his best. An enjoyable character.

Ron is also good perhaps better than Harry.

Ron's usually seen as the bumbling sidekick who is Harry's best friend. As the story goes on Ron takes a more active role and steps out of Harry's shadow as he takes on death eaters himself (and eventually marries Hermione).

Ron is awesome. He is like a normal teenager, maybe more-so than harry, because unlike harry he has more faults and is less mature. but its good, because he is funny, witty, but also he is smart, i resent people that say he is stupid, because even if hes not the sharpest out there, he definitely is smart. he maintains roughly the same grades as harry and is also good at clue-solving. and hes good at support for harry and shows true friendship.

Ron is Harry's best friend in the series. He is used in many illustrations throughout the book, so he's a central character. The relationship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione tell a story about true friendship. Ron proves loyal; he sticks to Harry in the series, even after they split up in book 4. Ron sticks to Hermione, too, even after they split up in book 6 and got back together. JK Rowling gives Ron positive lines to say in all the books, and if he's negative, he's still supporting Harry. Ron affirms Harry's feelings. Harry also sticks to Ron by choosing the classes where Ron would be in the book 3.
JK Rowling also uses Ron as a contrast between the Weasley family and the Malfoy family. They are in the opposite extreme of wealth, politics, spiritual beliefs, number of children, and their pride. Ron is a good contrast to Draco. When Ron becomes involved with the Order, they don't make him a member until he's an adult. The Death Eaters made Draco a member as soon as he was 16. JK Rowling shows both Ron and Draco to be too immature to handle war, indicating that she believes men can handle going to war only as an adult, especially when they have nothing personal to gain from it. Ron becomes a winner at Quidditch while Draco is left to cry into the sink. Ron clearly has a better family and has character. Ron doesn't resort to bullying in Quidditch, but Draco nearly kills several people in his quest.

Ron's funny, but a bit insensitive, especially towards Hermoine. I think my favourite line is in THe Chamber of Secrets, the movie, when they're told to follow the spiders, and he goes Why did it have to be spiders? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?. THat cracked me up.

Ron is the funny one. He's always looking at the bright side of life and always makes the jokes. He is loyal and always looking out for others.
