I wouldn't call Steinbrenner an idiot. He buys and sells players and builds teams and barely relies on his farm system to develop players. Oh well, they might as well be in those cotton uniforms that George Costanza suggested.

Once swindled The Native Americans out of a piece of land that was as big as Texas after screwing every chick on The Mayflower and beating up a four year old boy for stuttering. Also started The Black Plague, just to see " where it would go". Incontestable facts, center wing honkies! I am the Archduke of debaters!

He's a dishonest, obnoxious sack of ordure who is the ideal owner for the pestiferous Yankees. Not sure how that makes him an idiot however.

Controversial, domineering, and brutal are words that can describe Steinbrenner, he's definitely not an idiot, which is what we're rating here. He can be a pain, especially when someone crosses his path. Look at how many times he has changed personnel while at the helm of the Yankees organization. Probably his biggest claim to fame is his relentless pursuit of big-ticket free agents. People hate him because he's a dominant figure in the game, but Steinbrenner's a winner and really that's all what counts with him. His judgement isn't always on target, but dumb he is not.

Numerous championships since he became the owner and one of the highest revenue-generating teams in any sport-I'm not a huge Steinbrenner fan but this guy puts money back into the team and is committed to having a winner. Too many owners don't do this. Idiot? Not even close.

The Yankees, under Steinbrenner's ownership, have inargueably been one of the most (if not THE most) succesful franchises in the history of professional sports. The man demands perfection and settles for nothing less - which is why he is so quick to fire people - but his strategy obviously works. How many other idiots do you know who own a handful of World Series rings?
