 | abichara (60) 04/14/2004 | What Sen. John Edwards had going for him was a likeable personality and an ability to connect with moderate voters. Given the current demographics of the country and the importance of the Southern strategy, a good case could be made for his electability. His main problem was that he was just too lightweight for the big leagues. He didn't seem to have a very deep understanding of economic or foreign policy issues. Kerry as opposed was seen as far more experienced, someone who could stand toe-to-toe with GWB.

 | BIGBABY (10) 02/20/2004 | John Edwards is simply the most likeable candidate thus far. He has the ability to capture most key southern states, especially Florida. Kerry is nothing but a good actor, but will get the nomination ticket anyway. But as for Edwards, he seems like a nice guy. Dosen't call names or create silly slogans against Bush. Just lays out his plans. I wish there were more liberals like this man.

 | kolby1973 (32) 02/10/2004 | I haven't really been paying enough attention to the Democrat race like I should be...but thus far John Edwards seems to be the only one that interests me for various reasons...but the thing I love the most is his sincerity and his ambition...he seems like he would be a good candidate...but like alot of other people...I just don't know who to trust anymore...

 | pabob (2) 02/09/2004 | I said Edwards three weeks ago, but no longer. Kerry is the man for the Dems. Edwards is smooth and charismatic like Clinton, but I think what hurts him is that he is a first term Senator who hasn't completed a full term yet. Kerry has been in office for a while and has a record to stand on.
