This bill actually allowed MORE pollution for a longer period. It was a sweet deal for Corporate Polluters, and a slap in the face to every man, woman and child who lives here.

Now, stop being silly, you guys. The US did not renege on Kyoto, Clinton did not even recommend sending it to the Senate for review, it was so against our interests. Wanting all or nothing usually brings the minority side nothing, and Kyoto is deader than a doornail. The American people know too much about it now, it has become a third rail for politicians on both sides of the aisle. Now you can whine about what a sham the Clear Skies Initiative of 2003 is, and how desperately the world needs Kyoto, or you can face reality. By the way, has Kerry endorsed Kyoto? Why not, I wonder?

This is a pallative excuse for reneging on the Kyoto agreement. Means precisely nothing. A big fat zero. If anyone bought this, they need a medical test.

Another completely bulls--t name. This initiative does not force industries to limit the amount of pollution they dump into the atmosphere, merely the intensity of pollution, whatever that means. Corporations can basically continue polluting the Earth as if nothing has happened. Clear skies my ass.
