Not only was the play a terriffic one but the entire game was a see-saw, back and a forth game that had no clear winner till the final seconds. The Catch was also the start of a dynasty for the San Francisco 49ers which are my number 1 team for always!

Great NFC Championship Game! Dallas did not take advantage of 49er mistakes. Cowyboys did not run Dorsett enough the niners could not stop TD. Nevertheless a great game!

This game was DejeVu. In 1971, these two teams played in a Divisional playoff game that started with Vick Washington running the opening kick-off back for a touch down. The game looked well in hand in the 3rd quarter. The 49rs were leading 28-14. The momentum seemned on the 49rs side the whole game. The Dallas coyboys fought back & the Dallas Cowboys wound up winning off of a crucial recovery of a onsides kick, 30- 28..... Now 10 years later I am watching the Dallas Cowboys marching down the field. The 49rs just scored the last points off The Catch. It looks like it is going to be another comback victory for Dallas with the same score as 1971! (30-28) All Danny White has to do is get Dallas in field goal range. He has made a couple of crucial completed passes. One more medium range completion will get the field goal team on. Danny White is sacked & has fumbled the ball; 49rs recover! final score: Sf 29-28 Dall

The stakes were high, the rivalry extreme. The Dallas Cowboys were America's Team and the 49ers were the upstart challengers. The game was intense and the score tight. The 49ers were about to lose it all bu then... The Catch itself was as sudden and surprising as it was perfectly executed. The only game I ever saw from a sports bar, and the best ever.

The greatest game every played for its significance as the turning point in the Cowboys-49ers rivalry and as the commencement of the 49er Golden Era in the NFL.
