You know why Illinois and Purdue's basketball arenas are so much better than Indiana's Assembly Hall? Because there is not ONE of those five pesky NCAA banners blocking the view. GO HOOSIERS.

Assembly Hall is raucous on game day. Hoosier fans are always loud and energetic and the seats are great from anywhere in the house (maybe not the nosebleeds as much).

CLASSIC!

Oh get over yourselves, you and your Bobby Knight era.

Aside from the fans (which aren't a part of the arena), this is the worst venue in the Big Ten. Sure, it seats over 17,000 but 10,000 of those seats are in the dark, sky high, and terrible court view. Illinois' Assembly Hall is much better in architecture and court views. Purdue's Mackey Arena is much better as well. Not a bad seat in the house and it actually looks like a ball hall.

home of 3 natl champs, a 55 game winning streak, 20 straight tourney's, 12 big 10 champs, Coach K and many others said themselves that the IU Duke game was the craziest they had ever seen.I think they know a thing or two...

Simply a great place to watch basketball, IU's glory is set there. It seems sometimes the 19000+ crowd noise is almost like a 38000+. Fantastic stuff.

This is the MECCA of college hoops are you kidding me. Five National Championships, Bob Knight, Branch McCracken court, ridiculously ravid (and very knowledgable fans), and THE best new scoreboard and video screen in the country! Lacking a very visable student section because cameras face the direction of the rather stagnet alumni and general fan section, but these are midwesterners, what do you want? Completely underrated facilty, with a recently forgotten program of late, until the recent tight game with Duke and the unstoppable Marco Killingsworth. Arguably the greatest show of enthusiasm by college basketball fans EVER!

Although I'm from Lafayette, you have to love it when you watch a game in Assembly Hall. The atmosphere is electric and although a couple hundred people have bad seats, the rest of them really arent that bad. It's big but it has a small time feel about it. I've sat in every imaginable location and I would still rather be in the worst of teh seats then watching the game on tv. Looking forward to the next game I get to watch at Assembly Hall.

A strange building, to be sure, but the design serves a purpose. The shape of the room channels 17,000 screaming voices straight to the court, giving IU one of the best home-court advantages in the country (just look at their 04-05 home vs. away record). Unfortunately, it has lost some of its charm with the removal of the old-school scoreboards and the installation of a $2m, four-sided video board, but the addition is definitely for the best. The big video screens will be a welcome improvement for those trapped in the rafters on gameday.

Great history and a classic stadium.

NEVER SHOULD HAVE LET THE GENERAL GO! ARENA OK BUT COULD BE BETTER.

You can't deny the Hoosiers history! Assembly Hall is lightyears ahead of Cameron Indoor Stadium!

A very odd arena, unlike any other on campus facility I've ever been to. A strange mix of 70s architecture with classic, old school Indiana basketball elements. If you sit high, forget about having a good view of the game. But if you're lucky enough to get seats in the first 20 rows of the lower level, you have a great vantage point. The sound seems to just pour down to the court and stop, a very impressive sensation. One of the most intelligent, loyal fan bases in the country makes the building electric when IU is playing well. Bonus points for the lack of corporate sponsorship plastered on every open surface, the old school scoreboard, and minimalist court, and most impressively, the five national championship banners you can't miss.

A very weird place to play basketball. How can a team play in a facility that is shaped like a bone and has no room for end court seating? I can see the reason why there are some obstructed views there. Indeed, there should be an elliptical arena to hold more fans there- this place is more like a concert hall or an arena from a division 1-AA football school.

This is one of the worst venues in the Big 10/11. Many obstructed view seats, the vondor locations and access sucks, overall a place way beneath the quality of the team. Should have been replaced years ago.

There's no place like assembly hall. IU fans are the best!
