The day everyone stops wearing trendy fashion will be the beginning of a new phase of trendy fashion, ironically. Don't worry, that trend will pass too.

Personally, I've been saving my bell bottoms just in case they happen to make a come back.

In general, it depends on the trend. Some are okay, but others make me wonder what someone was smoking when they came up with it. Personally, I've never worried about what is trendy. The only time I've been trendy is when what I'm doing anyway becomes trendy, then people smirk and claim I'm only trying to be trendy. That part gets a little annoying.

The vast majority of trendy fashions just look ridiculous. Just a small sampling of things that have been trendy at one time or another: bell bottoms, snow boots with mini skirts, parachute pants/hammer pants, wearing bib overalls but only fastening one strap. I rest my case.

Trends come and go.  Keep what you already have, and it will come back in style in a couple of years.

It just so happens that some of the things that are considered "ultra-trendy" these days simply don't suit my personal taste. So, to all of the "clotheshorses" out there, I'd be considered a nerd.... but I'm fine with that!

As someone pointed out, depends on the trend, besides most of it is too expensive, and will just be replaced by some other trend.

Depends on the trend. I think that at one time or another we all succumb to some fad or other (for those of us who are older, we almost certainly followed some clothing trends in our younger days). I remember going in for pink shirts worn with gray suits, then the paisley shirt stage, then the blue jeans with rolled up cuffs, etc. I never gave in to the denim jackets with studs (actually, it was my parents who nixed the idea). Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I think that some clothes trends are really stupid looking (like the really baggy pants with the crotch almost to the ground, wearing pants so that your underwear show, etc.).

99% of them are stupid and a waste of money. People who follow them must have a lack of self-identity. They will look back at themselves and laugh at how foolish they were.

Living in NYC i see a lot of people walking around trying to be fashionable. first it was the Burberry clothes, and then it was the Truck Hats and the whole white trash look. this fall the ponchos were out. I dont really know what people are doing now, but i guess as soon as i see a bunch of overdone ugly chicks and a few metrosexual guys walking around, i'll know what it is. it suppose fashion is cool if the clothes are your style. but if you're one of these losers who bought a trucker hat or a poncho b/c everyone else did, well, you're a sheep. we have enough sheeps in America.

The function of clothing is to protect you from the elements. If your sense of self is so WEAK you have to blow your hard earned cash on fly threads and pfat rides you are PATHETIC.

Trends are only good if the style works for you personally. The more radical the trend the less people it will work for. Most of the conglomerations of fabric, plastic and faux fur you see coming down a runway don't even look good on the walking sticks wearing them. So what chance does someone of normal height and weight have? Save yourself some time and cash; find out what's best for you and then go with it.

Some trends are cool, but I try not to follow them obsessively because I don't want to look like everybody else. Also, some trends are just not meant to be followed by anyone over 30. I will never be seen in a pair of low riders. And I will never wear a poncho. I wore them in grade school, thank you, and I have no desire to wear them again.
