best actor ever

He's my favourite! The best actor I've ever knew!

Appears that everyone agrees on his best dramatic roles. Always thought he was a pretty good comedic actor as well. Good performance in "Midnight Run" and "Analyze This".

Godfather II, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.

Taxi Driver

Neil McCauley, Heat. Conrad Brean, Wag the Dog. Jake LaMotta, Raging Bull.

Many to choose from, but I'll take Goodfellas.

It impossible for me to pick a favorite DeNiro film. All of his characters have a way of pulling me into the movie as if Im apart of it. If its a DeNiro flick Im engaged from opening to closing credits.

Travis Bickel in Taxi Driver. Why? Simple. Can you imagine any other performer playing the part?

Definitely one of the best on this particular list. He's had many great peformances but I most liked him in The Godfather II and especially Taxi Driver.

It's a tough choice, but I'm gonna go with David 'Noodles' Aaronson in "Once Upon a Time in America".

My favorite film of his is Raging Bull.

His ability to transcend genres is most impressive. Great in all the gangster movies, but he's flat out hilarious in his recent films...Analyze This series and Meet The Parents series. It's much harder to make millions of people laugh

Robert DeNiro may have too much on his resume to single out any single role in any of the movies he has been in. But if I had to choose one role which has defined his career, it would probably be his portrayal as the troubled Jake LaMotta in 'Raging Bull'. Proving himself to be quite possibly the best of his era, DeNiro transformed himself from the devastating killer LaMotta had been in the ring to a bloated has-been running a shady nightclub. In a sense, DeNiro became LaMotta- and with it temporarily became the wretched human being LaMotta had been during the filming.
