Underatted actor who looks better all the time, compared to most of the idiot so called A list of today. Not bad for someone who was scarcely literate.

Maybe not representative of what range he had as an actor, Steve McQueen was nevertheless unforgettable as Detective Frank Bullitt in 'Bullitt'. McQueen's Bullitt was the epitomy of the cop who was affected by the ugliness of his profession, yet simultaneously never expressed it (nor his abhorrence against it). In any case, Bullitt was a detective who didn't pay lip service to the obvious corruption in politics, and McQueen (in his own laconic way) made Frank Bullitt real.
