I strongly agree with Jed1000 that Arkin's best movie was "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming". Arking played a character named Lieutenant Rozanov if I remember correctly. He played the part masterfully - his mannerisms were superb. The movie had a great cast, and Arkin was the guy who really made it work as well as it did.

Grossly overlooked, Alan Arkin has been a solid performer for over forty years. And of all his great performances, no one seems to remember his role as Roat in '' with the great Audrey Hepburn. Oozing with evil, Arkin's Roat terrorized the Hepburn's blind Suzy Hendrix to a highly climactic end, leaving audiences breathless. Arkin proved he was a great actor with range, and anyone who has seen this movie can vouch for the fact he was every bit the capable nemesis of Hepburn's character- truly a compliment.

I think his best movie is either The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming or The In-Laws.
