one of the best to ever coach.

Joe Gibbs is definitely a Hall of Fame coach based on his first stint. Second stint - I believe if he had a better QB situation he would have done a lot better.

Joe Gibbs used to be Great. However, I don't see how any NFL coach can leave his day to day connection with the game and all of the changes that surface across the spectrum of the other teams and coaches and expect to be as competitive with the other coaches as an NFL coach must be. All too frequently during the 2007 season it appeared Joe Gibbs was unable to orchestrate the leadership his staff required in order for him to carry the Redskins successfully through the many second halfs where it appeared the Redskins were headed to victory. It was almost like Gibbs became the Left Driesell of Football by showing his ability to coach defeat from too many apparent victories. I think anyone who takes 12 years out of their principal career and they are going to lose a little more than a step or two. And that will hurt as it did to Joe Gibbs. I do wish him the very best with the medical challenges he has and with his return to NASCAR. But I am glad to see him leave. And please, let Mr. Snyder bring someone in who can put together his own staff and not what Mr. Gibbs left. All of the Washington Metro sport writers who want to stay on Snyder's soiree invite list won't say anthing that might sound as if they are criticizing Gibbs, but the truth is the truth. Mr. Snyder can invite me in place of any of those sports writers.

Joe Gibs rocks. He gives discipline and he know what football is all about. He dosen't care if they win or loose what matters is that they play great and had fun.

One of the top five coaches all-time. Most imoressive accomplishment for Coach Gibbs have been his three titles with three different rosters. It proves the legitimacy of his system and great coaching moreso than the talent on his team. Being a life-long Cowboy fan, I am no fan of the Skins, but Gibbs is great.

He took a team with 1 WR, 1 RB, and a washed up quarterback to the playoffs, and actually did some damage. He does a great job of managing his assistants and his players. His history makes him one of the all time greats, but I think he is also doing an impressive job so far in his second stint.

Coach Gibbs is a guru of the game.

A great coach!A no nonsense guy who does not browbeat or humiliate his players.Wins with or without talent. Also love the H back.

A Hall of Fame coach, the best in the history of the NFL- not only has he won 3 Super Bowls with 3 different non-Hall of Fame quarterbacks, but he won those Super Bowls with 3 different running backs. Coach Gibbs will win a fourth!!!! The Redskins went through Richie Petibone, Norv Turner, Marty Schotteheimer (who, by the way, did a great job in Washington) and Steve Spurrier, before they found the only man to lead the beloved Washington Redskins out of the wilderness- "Hail to the Redskins"!!!!!

Joe Gibbs is a horrible coach. His play calling has cost our losing at least 3 games including today against the Chargers. He plays "chicken ball" and it has come to bite us in the "U No What". When Brunnel is playing well, let him continue to throw and stop changing things back to the running game when our lead is so marginal. Joe needs to go back stick with NASCAR as he is not willing to join the 21st century...................Our team plays its heart out and Joe causes the losses everytime with his stupid play calling.

His style is way to old.

One of the tip top coaches of all time in any sport. Very prepared, very intelligent, would be successful in anything he set his mind to. Go Redskins!
Alexg681 01/04/2005
One of the greatest coaches ever. Had a rough season this year, mostly because he took too long to switch QBs from Brunnell to Ramsey. Was away from the game for a while, might be too old for his job, but don't count him out yet.

Time to Retire.

One of, if not the greatest coach of all-time. Took 3 teams with 3 different QBs, to SB wins. Coached in one of the toughest divisions in NFL hisotry.

Best coach Washington Redskins ever HAD!
NJSloan 04/08/2004
Won three Super Bowls with three different running backs and three different quarterbacks. He won't need that much time adjusting to the free agency period.
Ninobene 04/07/2004
3 rings, 3 different starting QB's. 2 Winston Cups, 2 totally different personalities. Forget about the salary cap, players are different, all that crap. I suspect (ok...I PRAY) that Joe is the ONLY coach Danny Boy won't mess with. If he shuts up, signs pay checks, and stays out of the way, Joe will win again, and win big. Simply the greatest coach out there, maybe of all time. 16-5 in the playoffs, and were talking about Landry, Parcells, Shula, Ditka and Walsh coached teams...that's not beating up on Dave McGinnis and Bruce Coslet. OK!!! All together now...you know the words!!! Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! FIGHT FOR OLD DC!!!

Joe is the man! Hall of Famer will prove it again!
