She's come a long way. I remember first seeing her play some overzealous Nazi Wife in the not-so-great "Holocaust" miniseries and looked at her as a ham and something of a Beyotch. She has gone on to earn my respect as the "Girl who does all the accents." Sophie's Choice and Death Becomes Her were good ones because it shows her range from doing tragedy to comedy. My favorite Streep movie is "The River Wild." She flexed some muscles in that one and kicked some butt. Being a rower, I was also impressed with her sculling prowess on the Charles River in the opening scene.

Meryl Streep, in my opinion, is the greatest actress of all-time. Her greatest performance is undoubtedly in Sophie's Choice. She is subtle yet striking, funny and dramatic, and very convincing. She's a true legend.

a 4.5 average. I liked her in a lot of movies. to name a few. Sophies choice, a polish woman who lived through the holocaust and had to make a horrible choice. ONe true Thing a mother dying of cancer who got the chance to grow closer to her estranged daughter. I liked her in Music of the heart the violin theacher who taught in the inner city. she is an all around good actress.
