Watched him in Scarface, and he suited the part, and I thought "What a great actor". I then watched three other Pacino films, realised he plays exactly the same character as in Scarface, and thought "How average".He does deserve two stars for Scarface, though...

I refuse to choose a movie...simply because I have not hated any of the films he has been in... call me biased (he is my favourite actor) but pssh. He is amazing..and even in his later films, such as 'Donnie Brasco' and 'Glengarry Glen Ross'. He was alongside some of my other loved actors, Kevin Spacey (in GGGR) and Johnny Depp (in DB).

al pacino is my favourite actor of all time. in the godfather movis he was excellent. al has done very few bad films. i love the power he brings to a role. scent of a woman he was incredible. its that voice, al pacino is a legend

Tough call because he never dissappoints but it would be a toss up between Scent of a Woman and The Insider for me becuase those roles took him out of his typical Crime Film element and he still shone through. Oh, wait, what am i thinking? Looking for Richard. That was a cool film and unlike anything Al Pacino has done and he directed it too.

Not necessarily the best movie, but his best performance - The Devil's Advocate.

Close race between Michael Corleone and Carlito's Way. Another one of my favorites was "And Justice for All." Unfortunately, his last few movies have been clunkers.

Dog Day Afternoon

"The Devil's Advocate". Even Keanu Reeves couldn't ruin that movie.

He was amazing in the Godfather films, especially Godfather II.

it has to be scarface and serpico and he was good in donnie brasco. he played all 3 parts well and all three were different

I think Pacino is vastly overrated. He shows anger by yelling. He shows excitement by yelling. He shows passion by yelling. He was better back in the days - Godfather, Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon. Since then he's kind of gone off the deep end. And someone explain to me why they chose to cast a bunch of Italians to play Cubans in Scarface? There weren't any good Cuban--or at least Spanish-speaking--actors out there?
coleslough 09/17/2004
best actor out there..

my personal favorite is godfather part 2 followed closely by the godfather and scarface. it was a damn shame he wasn't recognized by the academy for any of these roles, but instead won for a role where he sounded like foghorn leghorn.

RAINMAN !?! the one I saw had Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise (both great actors) in it ..but don't remember seeing Al. Anyway, my favourite - The Colonel in 'Scent of a Woman'.
