I'm a big fan of livejournal. It is the perfect blogging site for someone who wishes to blog, but with a certain degree of privacy. The privacy settings are customized easily and the navigation, while overwhelming at first, you get used to.The communities are a great tool and you can find anything you like there. Entries from your friends and communities you watch get filtered all onto one page for you to update yourself with whenever you want, instead of having to go to each blog individually. I love my LJ and I've had it for several years. Beats all the other blogging websites hands down in my opinion. :]

Not great because it lacks in some demanding features.

Love the site.

no complaints, I like how you can download programs to update it without going to the website

Having been at LJ for a number of years, I can't help but think it has gotten slightly cumbersome, hence the less-than-perfect rating. It has so many functions and features that it almost becomes unwieldy, despite the newly streamlined interface. The linking methods are great, but the Menus within menus can get confusing for someone who doesn't use it on a daily basis. In some ways, it is harder to get noticed on LiveJournal than it might be elsewhere online (as far as weblogging/journalkeeping is concerned), but for some that may be a plus, if they're looking for a degree of privacy. In the spirit of fair disclosure, I should confess that I am a free-loading (non-paying) member, and so my experience is likely not indicative of what paying customers experience.

I've tried a number of different blogging sites and this one is my favorite. The customizations are fun for both paying and nonpaying members. Easy to use and very dependable, I recommend it. It's perfect for those who like to share their thoughts with the entire world web. I suppose it's the same people who would leave their diaries around just so someone would read it. Oh, wait, maybe that's just me.

i've had an LJ for almost four years now and i've never had trouble with it. teh downloadable client is easy to use and makes it unnecessary to remember tags. Livejournal is easy to customize and fair to non-paying members. also, the communities cover every topic one can imagine, so it's easy to find something you like (or dislike) and enter into discussion with other people about it. as of right now, i have nothing but kind words for LJ!

A very nice site. The best of the blogging site/services I've tried so far. It's very easy to keep track of friends on the site, and I really like the fact that there are blogs that are communities of users with similar interests. Very robust site, even for users who choose the free option.

All around a fairly good site. I like the use of codes, although it gets annoying at times. The communities feature is a great way of sharing information and making friends. Aisde from the downtime experienced once in awhile, I'd have to say I'd recommend it to those just getting into the world of webblogging.
