02/22/2004 | As Queen of England, Anne was largely successful at maintaining domestic tranquility and prosperity. She successfully maintained cordial relations with Parliament. Furthermore, under Anne, Scotland and England united to form Great Britain, further strengthening England's unity and authority as a world power. Overall, Anne was largely passive as Queen, which was what England needed at a time of great national prosperity and unity.
