She was a caretaker as the Whig magnates rummaged around to find a new king. They scraped the bottom of the barrel and found the miserable Hanoverian Dynasty. Anne had fourteen children and they all predeceased her! The German Georges were the next on the throne.

As Queen of England, Anne was largely successful at maintaining domestic tranquility and prosperity. She successfully maintained cordial relations with Parliament. Furthermore, under Anne, Scotland and England united to form Great Britain, further strengthening England's unity and authority as a world power. Overall, Anne was largely passive as Queen, which was what England needed at a time of great national prosperity and unity.
