Yes, I have been there, but it is far from the university in terms of walking distance and its location on the state fairgrounds. I do say that it is quite classy, but not really filled with the vivacity of a team that is commited to winning. Because it is owned by the city or the state, there is lots of hindrance to what students can do there. It gives good views of the playing area, though.

Terrible sightlines, dirty building.

Time has run out for Freedom Hall. It is time we put an end to its chapter in history. Let's face the facts. The ceiling is falling apart, the roof leaks when it rains or snows, the place hasn't been renovated since the Cards won their first championship in '80, and most of the lower concourse seats are folding chairs. I know everyone loves the 'history' of Freedom Hall, but U of L is in desperate need for a new arena. Thank god the city and university finally recoginzed this.

I have been to several arenas in the USA. I find Freedom Hall to be way above average even though it's considerably older than most of the other arenas. No matter if you're sitting on the floor or on the top row next to the ceiling you can catch every aspect of the game. The seating style is layed out really well. I enjoy watching games in this arena.

Improved in the recent years. Angle of seats puts fans farther away from court than in most places. The have good parking until you try to get out. Then they open only a few gates and it takes hours to clear parking lot,

I have been attending UofL basketball games here for over 20 years. It may not be the newest arena, or have all the luxury amenities but there is not a bad seat in the house. Freedom Hall is an old fashioned arena built for basketball purists.

Best venue for College Basketball in the US. Seating is situated so that you can enjoy the game from even the worst seats in the house. Jumbotron scoreboard installed in recent years.
