I gave this only one star. I used it when my son was a baby and although it cleaned well, it was expensive, smelled too strong and my son had a reaction to it. Baby detergent should be odorless in my opinion. They have delicate skin and there is no need for something to smell that strong. It also costs more than Tide per load, so that is really insane if you ask me.
New moms, I suggest you buy a perfume and dye free detergent over this. You will save the money, get decent results, and still be protecting your babies delicate skin.

I used dreft for my girl since she was born and there was never irritation or stains. As soon as we tried using regular laundry detergent, she had stains on her clothes! Sure, dreft may be more expensive, but buying clothing more often is even more! I am moving the whole family to dreft!

Works awesome! I love it & we have used it since February 1996 when my son was born.

Sure, this stuff is gentle and all, but it gets a poor rating for its expensiveness!! Honestly, all the other detergent companies make similar "free & clear" products and don't charge ten dollars for a small bottle of it! I think the only reason its so popular is that the manufacturers have managed to frighten new parents into believing that it's the only detergent safe enough for their children, when the truth is that All, Purex, and Tide's "Free & Clear" formulas are just as good!

Honestly, my babies never cared if I used Dreft or not. I did an extra rinse and that seemed to work just as well. Tide worked better than dreft for getting poopy diaper and formula stains out, even nasty Similac stains. I'd say start out with Dreft when they're newborns and then experiment when they get older.

I love dreft Its good on cloths and colors and plus it's a lot cheaper. And all the health care places recomend that you use deft on your babies cloths, I use dreft on my 4 month old babies cloths and his cloths are fresh and the clolor rarely ever fades! I give dreft a 5 for its quality!

Along with Ivory Snow, I used Dreft for my kids' clothing when they were babies. I seem to recall Dreft being a bit cheaper than Ivory Snow and it did just as good a job getting out stains while being gentle. Also, colors tend not to fade and the clothes stay in better shape longer..especially since my kids went through 3 or 4 outfits a day (until I wised up and stopped dressing them up in those oh so cute little outfits every day when we weren't even leaving the house..hello diaper and onesies, or diaper and a Tshirt..hello less laundry!)
