
Hank Iba began his career at small Maryville College. After coaching Colorado for one season he moved on to Oklahoma A&M(Oklahoma State) where he compiled a record of 655-316(.675). Iba was the first coach to win back to back championships (1945-46) and also finished as the runner up in 1949. He developed a man to man defense known as "the swinging gate" and is still used today. He is most remembered for the US Olympic teams 1972 loss to the soviets. His career coaching record is 767-338(.694).
