I purchased my first Dell computer in 1999 and the after sales service was then good. In January 2006 I upgraded to one of their top of the range models. When it arrived one of the peripherals was incorrect. I phoned and emailed and was assured on three occasions that I would be sent the correct part. Despite sending several emails since, all of which have gone unanswered, as at 6 April, the correct has still not been received. I have now purchased the correct generic part locally. Since 1999 I have made numerous recommendations regarding Dell computers, many of which resulted in sales. It now seems that once Dell have your money, they are just not interested if you are a dissatisfied customer. I will never buy another Dell computer and I am advising my many friends to do the same.

Customer service blows dogs ill be the first to say that. I spent 3 hours on the telephone with Ali Baba and Mushif trying to get a $120 dollar credit for a 3 year extended warranty that i did not order, and credit for a $50 dollar rebate i was promised but didn't recieve. The computer is fast and so far is working good ill probably eat these words after about 2 years. Do the right thing buy a HP i had one with all original equipment and it ran for 4 years with hardly no virus or spyware programs.

Go ahead and buy Hewlett Packard. That junk isn't made in a G7 nation either. Set up shop for customer call centers in India until Dell's rating started to slip badly. To his credit he did bring many jobs back statesite and ratings when back up. I bet no one ships the sales jobs overseas. They wait till you buy the thing to bring out the folks that don't speak english. Those idiots at the credit card companies and MCI use Indians for Telemarking. Stop calling me from India already.

As far as I am concerned he doesn't deserve any stars. Dell's customer service and financial service is terrible. You may buy their computers because they may seem like a bargain like I did, but trying to get any useful service when things go wrong is useless. You will be stuck for long periods of time listening to terrible music and ads until you finally come in contact with clueless customer service reps who may disconnect with you. I know this from buying a dell, returning it and then never receiving any credit for it (shouldn't that be an automatic thing?). I have even given them my tracking no.!! Do your research before purchasing a Dell. Sure the prices seem good (because they advertise so much), but they have even been exposed in England for shoddy service and craftsmanship. Btw anmalone does not lie when he says that Dell has exported their jobs, the majority of their employees are based elsewhere such as India, while only 30% are in America. Good luck to all of you who own dell's.

Cheap Huckster and exporter of American Jobs and importer of asian pcs. Dell doesn't own a single manufacturing plant in the US. The company contracts out everything. Their equipment is poorly designed and constructed while their support organization is non-existence e.g. A call was placed for next day service on March 3 and they didn't bother to dispatch the Unisys tech until April 12. Excellent. Forget this rubbish and buy Hewlett Packard.
