i know of two families in the same small town, on the very same street in Louisiana that lost everything in a fire. One family has started to rebuld but they can use all the help they can get. The other family move out of theie home before the hurricane, lost the father last year and now the house they were rebuilding. The first family name is the Smith's and the second is the Holmes of Terrace New Sarpy Louisiana. I didn't know how to send this any other way.

This is one of my favorite shows. I've seen it so much over the years that I could probably write and direct any of them, but it is always good to see all the people willing to DO good; not just talk about it.

i dunno... i have mixed feelings about this show. I like that it's a postive message on the air instead of one more disgusting reality show about a bunch of recent college grads who refuse to grow up. I like that they're helping people by giving them big shiny new houses, that are specially designed to help the family deal with whatever their particular ailment may be. what i DON'T like is that Ty dude. Seems to me all he does is run around with a mega-phone and get in the way. Ever notice that the one room he works on in every show is always closed off until the end? I don't think he does anything. I bet all the real workers get awful annoyed with him. And that's the other thing. When was the last time a hot, young blonde carpenter showed up to fix your rotted floor complete with curled hair and a nice little puffy vest? You never see one of those young attractive people that get interviewed on camera standing on the ladder hanging sheet rock when Ty goes running through yelling on his mega-phone about them being behind schedule. Where are the fat old guys that I KNOW have to work for these companies? I don't believe much of what you see with this show is authentic. But I like what they're doing.

These shows in general, but this one in particular are horrible exercises in expoiting the misery of poor families for the simple purpose of giving SEARS and some local construction firm a platform to advertise.

Eighty percent of the show is dramatization of the families pathetic circumstance and the miracle that a bunch of sexy designers and carpenters with new power tools and appliances can perform if they throw money at their problems. There's also plenty of opportunities for product placements and showing company logos.

Sure its nice for those sad families to get a nice new house at the end of the week, I hope they can maintain it. But generally one of the parents still has cancer or one of the kids some rare uncurable disease. I wonder how many of the nice new homes eventually go into tax default. Pass the Kleenx (TM) please.

I don't like much of the newer programming that's on these days, or especially these "reality programs", but "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is a standout. Most reality shows that are passed off as entertainment these days feature people doing foolish (if not downright disgusting) things. This one, by contrast, is a wholesome program which focuses on helping people, mainly families with special needs. Like the title suggests, these families have their homes remodeled so as to be more accomodating for them making their lives a little easier. The airwaves need more positive programming like this. If there were, perhaps the world would be just a little bit brighter.

I really think this is a great show. I know some have talked about commercialism being a big part of the show, but the people that are getting helped could care less about that. This show can be very moving. I know it is hard to stay fresh and that we are easily bored, but I hope they do continue to help people.

This was terrific when it started but it gets sappier and more commercial every week. It's nice that they do it, but I don't have to watch it. For all the money they spend on the show, they could help Habitat for Humanity build hundreds of houses.

I think this show inspires everyone. These people give up there time and money to help other families get on the right tract to have a happy life. If there was something that I could keep in my life, I think that I would keep my T.V. to watch this show. It keeps me going everyday knowing that other people around the world have a place to live thanks to the Extreme Home Makeover Edition crew. I am so lucky to have a house to come home to everyday and a loving family to look up to. I may not have a room or even a bed to sleep in but i am still very lucky compared to some people that are on this show! I just wanted to say thanks so much, and my dream for life is to be on your show as an interior designer!

This is one of the few reality shows (on now) that I don't mnd watching. I think it's great that these people travel the country, rebuilding homes for deserving families. I especially love the reveal and the family's reaction to the work that's been done. I think it's just a really sweet show.

I like it; I watch it nearly every Sunday because it's cool to see how they built these houses in a week. But one thing I think is a bit weird is all the crying going on. They always hang a picture of a dearly departed the people are crying and then you have the workers crying and stuff. I am thinking, oh man why is this guy blubbering now??

A great show. I don't see how anyone can not like it. It's not that reality crap where a person from every stereotype imaginable do stupid tasks and get illiminated to win a large sum of money. It is a group of truly caring people, rebuilding the home of a family that has had really rough times and are very deserving of a nice comfortable home. For whatever reason, up until the last few episodes of the season, it was pretty much reserved exclusivly for the West Coast, the exeption being two homes in New York city. The last few episodes of the past season did take place in several areas, which was good, because there are deserving families all over the country.

Few things better than to give a family a home of their own. The Team gets more face time than they should and love themselves just a bit too much. And does Ty have to yell everything?!

Excellent! A wonderful show! It's so refreshing and beautiful to see people willing to give so much to help a family in need. Anyone who complains about it 'not being interesting enough to grab your attention', you could definitely learn a lot from it. It's not about grabbing your attention (except by the beauty of the house and the outstaniding moral to the show), it's about helping out others and having fun doing it. Nice going, ABC!

Until todays show this was my favorite show. I loved what they did for people; however tonight they took two couples that really, really needed help and gave them nothing but a temporary fix. They are still expected to move. Why do people that already have more deserve more. These people should have gotten more not less. I was totally disapointed.

I participated on the Wofford home in Encinitas, CA and it was a pleasure. I had never met the family but was compelled by their story. Many folks did this for free. Sorry cynics but sometimes people just do good for others.

This is one of my favorite shows! They rebuild homes of people who can really use it, and it's definitely extreme! Most of these people have suffered from some sort of tragedy like illness or death, and it's really a touching show.

What a great show. I am completely amazed every week that they are able to take a home and completely rebuild it in less than a week. And I enjoy how the show truly seems to benefit people, instead of showcasing self-promoting jerks.

It always amazes me how high-budget this show really is. These guys could take a roach-motel and turn it into a Mariott, and they only do it for the most deserving people.

I like this show because unlike most of the rest of the crap on TV today, it really seems to make a difference for every family that has been involved. I hope that this starts more programs from corporations like Sears to do more for the community.

How can you now like it? It it the only reality show that actually helps people in need instead of degrading them. If you're hooked on reality shows, then you probably hate it because it is missing the cat fights and back stabbing common to these types of shows. Great work ABC and all of the companies that donate products for the show, like Sears.

This show is painful to watch. I was actually hitting myself with an empty beer bottle to take me out of my misery. As much as I hate Trading Spaces, this show is infinitely worse. At least Trading Spaces has some potential suspense in that the people may hate their neighbors redecoration. But this horror of the show has the standard plot line: Take poor dirt-eating family of 17 living in a roach encrusted Refrigerator Box, send them to Tahiti for the Week, drop a 9-bedroom, 7000 square foot mansion where the refrigerator box was, bring them in and watch the women shriek, sob, and yell Oh My GOD for 20 minutes. All the while say the word SEARS every minute of so. I hate the whole premise of the show. Of course it's ABC's best rated show because their creative writing staff consists of 3 tapeworms, a planaria, 4 leeches, and a couple of nematodes.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is one of my favorite shows. I was disappointed recently though with the Imbriani makeover. The disparaging comments made about the prefabricated house delivered by Brian from British Columbia (at a moments notice, I might add) has put me off! When Ty could not get anyone in his country to provide a frame of a home...he turned to us! And what does Canada and especially my beautiful province of British Columbia get! Derogatory comments of he didn't finish the build...we have different building codes in the U.S. (information not given to Brian to begin with) etc. It upsets me that continually when my country tries to come to the aide of our neighbour, their haughtiness takes over. Thanks alot!

This show helps people who have had sime tragety linked to their homes and it's exciting to see the old run down homes turn into a show place. Seing the families reactions to their New homes is so cool. Also, Preston is sssoooo HOT!

I am excited to find a show that is focussing a great deal of energy on improving the quality of life rather than the quality of fluff. This is the kind of show that promotes the service and neighborly concern that contributes to a society of peace.

I'll admit that when there's nothing on, this is the show I'll settle on watching. And by the end of the episode, I'm always pleased I did. While it does follow the same formulas and suffers from similarity at times, it's generally enjoyable. Ty, the main host, is rather annoying with his manic personality. However despite little problems, this show is uplifting even though I spend the last 15 minutes bawling my eyes out. It is so refreshing seeing deserving people's reactions at the end.
