105.7 has been a struggling station for a long time. They seem to switch up their format every year or so, and nothing seems to work. They still use the HFS call letters, but they are currently a sports talk station. Most of the stuff on the station now is pretty boring. I love Baltimore sports, but most of the town's sports media personalities are dreadful. Kirk and Mark, who left 98 Rock several years ago, are now out of a job. They didn't stick with the station during the format shift.

WHFS IS BACK! . . . well, sort of. It's kind of on life support, on after 7:00 and on the weekends on 105.7. Well, I guess it's better than nothing. I never realized how much I listed to HFS until it went off the air for that week. Alternative rock again has a home . . . a transitional home, but it's good enough for now. UPDATE: Looks like WHFS has teamed up with AOL to be played online: http://music.channel.aol.com/internet_radio/whfs Not a big fan of AOL (heh, to say the least), but at least they've got HFS. I've gotta say, the variety that they play now is excellent; rather than sticking to the top ten songs, they're pulling out stuff from WAY back. Definately an improvement. ANOTHER UPDATE: Alright, after a few weeks, I'm upping the rating to a 4; for the folks that stopped listening to HFS a while back because they've started playing the same ten songs on rotation, they've changed for the better! Great selection of music, stuff I haven't heard in years mixed with current stuff. Dare I say them getting pulled in the first place may have been a blessing in disguise? Still wish they were on 100% of the time, though, so I'm withholding that last star.
