How about the "Lederhosen Hall of Fame"!?? :)
vonr5 08/12/2009
During the time that her first three albums came out, critics and the public alike were lauding her the "Queen of Rock", a title she still richly deserves. She and Heart have done more to break out the notion of women rockers than any in the business. She deserves Hall of Fame recognition!
SuziQueue 08/07/2009
shot her with her best hit

Just another forgettable chick singer from the 80s.

Best Female rock singer ever.
FranksWildYear s 10/06/2008
More appropriately belongs in the "Good Fitting Pants Hall of Fame".
Zep 10/06/2008
Billboard Magazine, the official music research publication, ranks her as the #1 Female Rock Singer of all-time, based on chart positions and records sales. Of course she deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Even those who don't care for her music cannot deny that her influence is huge.
djRock4USA 09/27/2008
Can't believe some of you. Rock is so unfair to female artist. If Pat isn't Rock & Roll, I done know what is? Hard or heavy medal rock and roll is no more rock than Pop or light Rock. Elvis/Springteen middle of the road style Rock is true to its original form. ...Can some of you name 5 Female mainstream artist more deserving??? Even harder can someone name 5 Black female artist worthy of induction??? Interesting Story when it comes to Black female Rock singers...Someone should forward this to R & R hall of fame. Saw her two years ago and she still is awesome. She was an 80s ICON.
jgls 09/26/2007
i didn't realize what pat benatar was doing was considered rock n roll. if she is inducted, please shoot me.
Victor83 07/21/2007
Pat Benatar successfully broke into what was at the time a male dominated genre/ sub genre of music. Her talent was extraordinary, particularly when compared to the tarts of today like Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, etc. She is most definitely deserving of a spot in the hall of fame.
dazedandconfus ed2 07/21/2007
I hated her songs in the 80's and hate them even more today.
Sincopare 07/12/2007
I think she'd rate higher if she had not turned to pop music after her first three records. Who of you didn't turn up the radio the first time "Heartbreaker" came on? It's still totally instinctual. Forget 'Hit me' and 'Battlefield'. Remember 'Promises in the Dark' and 'Hell is for Children' and the choice is obvious!
WuzUp 03/27/2007
no, get real
killermckiller 03/23/2007
Sooo many more deserving
ajowoods 02/22/2007
Her biggest rival here is Joan Jett, and she has many more hits, but not as much critical respect. Of the two, Jett is more likely, although I would put Benatar in first.
MapleRock 01/27/2007
no, if love is a battlefiled, the HALL is a war. Let DEEP PURPLE reign
marto 01/21/2007
not really a true rock chick but id let her in
JP2007 01/08/2007
Pat Benatar was a pioneer for women of rock and roll in the MTV era. She has the talent and credibility to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She also showed great integrity when dealing with the male-dominated world of recording labels and radio. PAT BENATAR IS LONG OVERDUE FOR INDUCTION. She should have been nominated in 2004.

SHE NOW IS STILL HOT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I'M A MAN AND I AM SAYING IF SHE HAD A PAIR HANGING, SHE WOULD BE IN.... P.S. I MEAN BELOW THE BELT. WAKE UP AMERICA......

I was in the 4th grade and in love with Donna Summer, and Disco as well in '79, when i happened to see this sexy feminist with a super-human voice and fearless energy perform her new single, "Heartbreaker" on American Bandstand. It was as if a tank slammed into my concienceness! It was as if Pat Benatar was a wild panther just released from her cage with one thing on her mind...death to Disco! Disco did die for me that day and Rock-n-Roll became my passion! So, for me, her accomplishments(an unprecidented 4 consecutive grammy awards-Best Rock Vocal Performance, female...2nd video to air on MTV which was the only video from women until her next one aired...boosting record sales helping the recording industry recover from it's sales slump of the late '70's, and that just scratches the surface)...sigh...these accomplishments, to list a small few, aren't needed for me to be forever grateful to this lady. In my eyes, she is the driving force that kicked Dico to the curb and showed the world that a woman can rock as hard as a man and sell-out arenas just as fast. Her voice is capable of shattering concrete while remaining in perfect pitch. Her "Hell is for Children" inspired countless abuse victims to rise up to defend themselves and she gives selflessly to charities! Her image is burned into the minds of every child of the 80's because she was on the scene first, passing the torch to Madonna(and all women in music) after stomping down the door and fearlessly leading the way! Should she be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Hell, she help create the institution!

She was influential, but her music hasn't aged as well as others.
benatarbrave 03/11/2006
I saw pat in NYC last year and she is rocking better than ever!!
Djahuti 11/28/2005
She was popular in her day,but she was also mediocre, predictable and hasn't stood the test of time.
Gianthogweed 10/19/2005
A little too cheesy for my tastes. I won't deny that she was influential though.
Kairho 10/09/2005
As the years go by her work only gets better and better.
thylacine 10/01/2005
I can not believe she is not in already, actually yes i can...i forgot she is riding in the back of the bus with Linda Rondstadt, Carly Simon, Cher,The Go-Go's, Heart and other well deserving women waiting for their male counterparts to vote for them to be inducted. All women. All deserving for different reasons. All (in my opinion) would be inducted already if theywere men.
FuzzyJ 09/23/2005
Should have been inducted her first year of eligibility....along with Stevie Nicks, she dominated the rock world thru much of the 80's!
texasyankee 08/27/2005
She was a huge icon in the 70s-80s.One of the very few female rockers we thought was any good. As picky as we were in the 80s, like joan jett was all fake to us, deborah harry was nowhere close to this woman, Stevie Nicks was about as big I would say as Pat benatar, but all in all I would have to say more people listened to Pat Benatar than any other female rocker of that era. She deserves it. As much as I heard her sing during the 80s, I would be surprised she's not there already.Just looked her up and she has won 4 grammys in a span of 3 years. EDIT: I am referring to how popular Pat Benatar was in the 80s, since you are NOT from the 80s you wouldn't know how popular pat benatar was would you, now. And yes we thought Joan Jett was fake. I still do. If you were in that era, you would know how, not only did it bother us about Joan Jett but the people who listened to her... like they were preppy, who normally listened to the Pop music and then they heard Joan Jett and said OOOOO, I like Rock n Roll, So in actuallity Joan Jett is Baby rock... :-P
prettybaby 08/26/2005
Sorry Pat Benatar fans but she was so middle of the road and so boring. The worst of 80s mall rock. While I think she's actually much better and cooler now with age I don't think she should be in the HOF....certainly not before Blondie who were the epitome of New York cool. Someone here wrote that Joan Jett was all fake and that Deborah harry was nowhere close to Pat. Chrysalis would never have even given Pat Benetar a record deal if Deborah Harry and Blondie hadn't pried the door open for women who wanted to front a band. Pat's early hit We Live for Love was a blatant Blondie rip off. I mean hats off...Pat can sing her butt off...but lets give credit where credit is due.
MAXMSEVERYTHIN G 08/25/2005
PAT BENATAR IS WELL DESERVING OF THE HAL OF FAME. THE WORK SHE HAS DONE MUSICALLY SPEAKES FOR ITSELF. IM TALKING ABOUT THE WOMAN, THATS GIVEN ALL HER ENERGY ON BETTER LIVES FOR BATTERED CHILDREN. FOR BEING THE WOMAN SHE IS TO VOLINTEER HER TIME AN GIVE TO SO MANY CHARITES. SHE GAVE ALL THE MONEY FOR WE BELONG TO THE WE ARE THE WORLD FUND. THEN SHE DID THE EXMAS SONG FOR THE 9/11 SAGA. SHE IS A GIVING SOUL AN SHE HAS THIS VOICE THATS LIKE NO OTHER. THE ONE AN ONLY PAT BENATAR. THANK YOU MAX DEAN
Emack 08/20/2005
Kick ass, powerhouse voice that can punch out your lights and then make you cry.
Tina V. 08/20/2005
She's amazing, and her new cds keep getting better and better.
Frank V. 08/15/2005
Best voice in rock and roll.
kingguiness 07/13/2005
She was good in the 80's. I think for me the music is dated but compared to a feminazi like Alanis she marginally gets in.
Pfft 05/25/2005
Wasn't bad, but I defintely don't think Pat belongs in the Hall Of Fame.
