 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 03/26/2008 | You can beat somebody at golf, but the physical demands aren't too high and you are denied the chance to physically dominate your opponent. Full contact golf would be the sport for me...

 | excelsior30 (8) 02/28/2008 | It can depend for me, but there is rumour that golf will return to the Olympics in Beijing or London. For my stance as a sport, yes and no. Yes because it does require skill, and you have to use back, abdominal, shoulder, arm and some chest and leg muscles when putting the ball in the air. No because there are long times when you have to catch up to your ball and wait your turn- a sport could, but not definitely be, where a person sustains exertion or on the move for more than two minutes while reaching one's goal. Sure they will walk to the ball, but this is not competition, however doing the course in the shortest strokes is.

 | Randyman (103) 04/16/2007 | Considering that Tiger Woods is one of the highest paid athlete in the country, it must be true.

 | Flick01 (71) 04/16/2007 | I believe golf is a sport that requires a pretty high degree of skill. It takes many years of practice to develop the hand - eye coordination needed to get the ball under the windmill, up the ramp, and into the clown's mouth.

 | SchadenfreudianSlip (18) 04/16/2007 | Finally...an appropriate sport for anal-retentive control freaks. I only enjoyed playing it with a good tequila buzz and without a scorecard, which irked my "buds" to death.

 | Mad Hatter (37) 04/16/2007 | If they got the guy who does commentating in soccer matches I might watch. "The ball is going in the....HHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

 | Victor83 (35) 04/14/2007 | For me, a sport is having one individual or one team go head-to-head, directly against each other, and a game where some athletic ability is required. If I am not mistaken, Jack Niclaus played in the last Masters. I don't think we will see Jim Brown on the field for any Super Bowls.

 | LastMessenger3 (40) 08/23/2006 | I see it as a leasure sport more than anything. I personally don't like golf, but for those who does, it's a nice way to use your free time.

 | X Factor Z (13) 08/10/2006 | I vote...not a sport, a sport should be something like say football, not making millions hitting a little ball around a course and drinking martinis with your rich friends.

 | oldiesmusicfan101 (3) 02/18/2006 | A past-time, nothing more and nothing less. A relaxing game, where some people enter contests and win money.

 | zuchinibut (36) 02/12/2006 | Its a game...not a sport. It is competitive and does require a great deal of skill, but there isn't enough physical activity to make it a sport.

 | swangmaster8 (4) 05/16/2005 | To people who have tryed to golf it is not easy to be a great at this sport. I love golf and see how tough it is and it makes me ant to play it more.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 02/13/2005 | I don't care for golf, but I would call this an activity instead of a sport. I mean, you ride in a cart, right?

 | Davis21Wylie (1) 08/21/2004 | Are you kidding? Of course it's a sport! It's as much of a sport as baseball, and far greater than boxing, figure skating, synchronized swimming, or any other marginal olympic sport. Sure, football, hockey and basketball require more pure athleticism, but is anybody ready to say that Tiger Woods isn't an athlete? Come on. His Nike-ad ball-bouncing performance alone should make everyone consider golf a sport! Can you do that? Can Allen Iverson or Peyton Manning do that? Probably not.

 | Redoedo (39) 03/30/2004 | Golf is not as easy as it looks. There's quite a bit of skill involved and it helps those who play it stay in decent shape. There's quite a bit of walking invovled, especially if you don't get a cart. While I've played it quite a few times with my grandfather and found it to be entertaining, it's certainly NOT a good sport to watch. Watching golf makes me want to prescribe Ridilin to a glacier.

 | minkey (36) 02/17/2004 | Definetely a sport. The appeal that golf has is that unlike a contact sport like football or hockey, you can play golf your whole life. It's also relaxing (if you aren't swearing or throwing your clubs).

 | Enkidu (37) 02/16/2004 | It's a sport, but I don't get it. I'm the only one at my level at work who doesn't golf, and frankly I'd rather paint my cellar.

 | irishgit (138) 02/16/2004 | Sure, its a sport, but a damn dull one. A good walk spoiled has been used before, but it's nonetheless true. My father in law loves it, and has dragged me around a course a time or two. I can't stand it. And as for watching it, I'd rather sit in a stucco bathtub.
