Not a good place for a first date.If alcohol is involved it kind of clouds your perception. I know it's happened to quite a few of you out there. Wake up the next morning in a whole world of hurt. And I'm not talking about a hangover. me included unfortunately

Personally not the best place for a first date. But a good way to find out if your date is a lush or a drunk, before you get to involved.

Alcohol is alright in moderation. Beer allows some people to relax. Personally, I wouldn't go to one for a first date but to meet new people instead.

This could work, as long as both parties are mature. But don't meet your date on an empty stomach, and don't have more than a couple of mild drinks. Then, as Enkidu says go do something fun, like go for a walk in the park, go to the museum, or go see a play.

Oh, alcohol will leave a really good first impression. *sarcasm*

Alcohol is popular for a good reason--it DOES loosen you up when you are nervous, and it's normal to be nervous on a first date. Have a drink, then go do something where you both laugh a lot.

In anticipation of the fact that the bluenosers are going to be here soon, ranting this is a date, not a drunken orgy, my view is this is a pretty good choice. It allows a conversation, a little flirting, and a chance to see where things might go. To clarify for the mongoloids, I'm not talking about getting faced on boilermakers in a waterfront tavern. I'm talking about a drink or two, a conversation, and possibly moving on to another event.
