Saw him doing Sportscenter and Outside the Lines. Dude, why don't they give this guy more time on the big network? He's way better than most guys who are getting more facetime.

I gotta write in response to that last comment. I watch more ESPN and ESPNNEWS than anybody I know and I think Steve Bunin asks by FAR the toughest questions of all the athletes who come on the air. I dont know what u were watching because this guy does it day in and day out. He asked tuff questions right after the news hit and he is STILL asking tuff questions to Merriman (whose on once a week as any real ESPNNEWS fan knows) and its been like 2 months since he was suspended. Rip Bunin for something but not for being a CREAM PUFF interviewer.

I felt compelled to comment, after Steves' interview with Shawne Merriman today. I'm sure Steve is a nice person, and has a great future in sports journalism, but today won't be considered a highlight. It was about the most cream puff interview I've heard in a long time. How about a few tough questions. You seem to give a pass to football players that you don't give to baseball players on the steroid issue. The guy was treated like a conquering hero, not the cheater he has been exposed as. The most telling thing was your body language. You were stiff as a board and your facial look was one absolute fear. I think Michael Kim would have been the better choice for the interview. He seeems to know how to ask biting questions without making it a personal attack. Come on Steve, we the audience expect more. As far as being a sportscaster he does an excellent job.

About a year ago, I'm up late watching ESPNews and I'm looking at this guy... and I swear I know him. Boom, it hits me, We're Frat Brothers.... tell KG Jr. I say hello.... BTW, He does a great job, humor is key, and he has it.

Impressive and well worth watching. Insightfull analysis with a sense of humor that adds to his tv presence without overshadowing the work he's doing

I've known Steve since childhood. He's been a sports nut all his life and is a very bright guy with a great sense of humor and even greater potential. If I were in charge of ESPN, I would advance him to the top of the ESPN chain as soon as possible.

I don't see all the hype. The other rater's must be smoking something. Yeah, the overall quality of ESPN broadcasters is excellent, but Bunnin seems average at best.

Bunin is very funny, has good running commentary, and seems to really know his sports. I assume that the sportscasters do their own writing, and if so, I'm impressed, given that Bunin's writing already seems to be at the Stuart Scott/Dan Patrick level in terms of sharpness with only a year or so of work at ESPN under his belt; Mike Hall, albeit a shade behind Bunin, is also surprisingly good here, considering his recent start. I'd be interested in seeing Bunin do more in-depth analysis on basketball or football, either in segments on ESPNews or guest-spots on commentary shows.

Steve has a great way of giving sports updates by using his intelligence and sense of humor.

I was going to give Steve Bunin a 4.5 rating because I don't want him to get too cocky but more importantly I want him to continue to strive toward greatness and always improve his already polished sports casting skills. However, his great timing for intelligent humor and subtle references that highlight my hometown of Seattle left me with no choice but to proudly give Steve 5 stars. I just hope he does not let it go to his head. Nice smile by the way.

Very polished performance. Good English usage ( a rarity among sportscasters).
