The Beatles are my all time favorite band, but "Let it Be" is not a very good record, the songs are good in their own right but they just don't belong packaged together. There is nothing cohesive about it. Get Back, Across the universe and Long and winding road stand out among a group of songs that seem "forced" in production and musicianship. I feel that if they had placed the "Jam" session from the movie on the lp, it would have lightened up the mood of the album.

I am glad they got it made with all the history surrounding it.

The movie left a little to be desire but the album is another masterpiece. I mean if you don't like Get Back or Let It Be you have serious problems. I think it would have been better if George Martin had produced it rather than Phil Spector but those were strange times.

No Beatles album will get less than 4 stars from me, but this one pains me to listen to, and not because of the music. The band was falling apart when they recorded it. It's amazing that they pulled Abbey Road off (which was recorded after Let it Be, but released BEFORE it). Phil Spector's touches add a lot to the record (I have to disagree with McCartney, and go with Harrison on this one--Spector worked wonders with Across the Universe, Let it Be and The Long and Winding Road). Let it Be Naked, the album McCarntney envisioned it, came out last year and didn't cut it for me.

An utter mess of an album, aside from One After 909. The rest of the songs just aren't remarkable or enjoyable.

All great songs but you can tell the Beatles were getting burnt out. It could be 5 stars but I can tell they didn't put their "all" into project. Phil Spector actually saved the album with beautiful string arrangments on "Winding Road", "I Me Mine", and "Across The Universe". And to think The Beatles thought the orchestrated songs sounded terrible. They just didn't have their head in the game anymore. I LOVE the song "I've Got A Feeling", what a hell of an intro riff that sticks in your head. A classy way to play the G and C chord.

The fact of the matter is that the Beatles never put out a bad album. Let it Be is right up there with their other classics, while not as widely known and popular. The title track along with Across the Universe, Long and Winding Road, and Get Back are all great songs. It has a bit of sentimental being their final album. Overall though, definitely deserving of the 5-star rating.

It could have been so much better

One of my favorite Beatle albums, Let It Be is a must have for every Beatle fan. I mean, it's got sooooo many great songs- First off, Let It Be, which you just can't explain, it's so beautiful. And what a GREAT guitar solo in the middle by the one and only George Harrison! And the lyrics, wow. You've also got Across The Universe, which I absolutely love. The Line-Pools Of Sorrow, Waves Of Joy, how wonderful is that? Ladies and Gentleman, the beauty of John Lennon. And Two Of Us is just a great song altogether. You've also got Get Back, The Long and Winding Road, and so on. This album is just altogether legendary. It's really sad that it had to end, and that they were fighting pretty much through the whole making of this album, but look how it turned out! A masterpeice, is all I can say. The only thing that takes that away, is that they didn't really put it together themselves, Phil Spector did. Other than that, a masterpiece!

I don't particularly like the Beatles. Yes, they were legends, but they just aren't my personal favorite group. The reason why I gave them 2 stars is becuz the song Let it Be is actually an okay song...other than that, sorry to the fans, I just don't like it.
