09/19/2008 | Not an easy read for people who don't read a lot, but once you get to the end of one you are looking forward to a break but ... then the ending leaves you hanging so you have to start the next book immediately!

09/11/2005 | Excellent series. I loved every minute of it. granted, it's a long series, and if you don't lke reading, I don't reccomend it, because it will take you a long time to read it. But, it's a wonderful series.

02/22/2004 | By far the best author and series of works on this list! So many reviews have been written on the brilliancy of Tolkien that it's hard to say anything that hasn't already been stated. simply a masterpiece written by a true literary genius. No other series on the list can compare.

02/22/2004 | A masterwork, in large part because it was written as a single book and only split into a trilogy due to the mechanical publishing restrictions of the day. Tolkien is far and away the best of the writers on this list (as currently compiled) and that is an equally huge factor.
