 | DrEntropy (38) 06/05/2008 | Ran into several of these while vacationing in Alaska; I've rarely seen happier people in my life. They must have very satisfying careers-outdoor work in beautiful environments, physical exercise, decent pay. Either that, or they smoke more pot than Cyprus Hill.

Exploring some of the last mysterious places and frontiers on the planet, this job provides an opportunity to discover new species. Of course (as another comment noted), the vast majority of these people probably get stuck performing environmental impact studies which is much more dry, bureaucratic, and political.

 | Enkidu (37) 03/11/2004 | Probably a wonderful field, but a lot of people who study this don't realize that a lot of jobs involve studying and writing bits of environmental impact reports for things they love that are about to be destroyed.
