 | jerrylee12345 (2) 05/19/2008 | "Rust in Peace" was great, no doubt about it, but so was alot of others...so its kinda hard for me to say what the BEST album was...heres my top 5, in no certain order, : Rust In Peace, Countdown To Extinction, Peace Sells..., Youthanasia, and United Abominations. Im glad the Megadeth is back in the saddle and looking good again.

 | Limpin' Trenchfoot (16) 03/09/2007 | I quite liked this at first but like all their albums I dont find it stands up to repeated listenings and it soon wears on the nerves mainly thanks to Mustain'es nasal wailings and the usual shred nonsense

 | mrzappa (0) 08/09/2004 | I had this album (yep, actual VINYL) for over two years before I ever turned it to side two. Friedman and Mustaine play good cop, bad cop with the lead work, incredible rhythm section (some of Dave Ellefson's finest work)and strong songwriting make this one a KEEPER. Holy Wars/The Punishment Due down through Five Magics is one of the greatest sets of songs EVER on a metal record. BUY IT!!!

 | dmcd (0) 02/20/2004 | Megadeath has some solid material in their career, but this one showed a more polished sound. Unfortunately, it didn't work on this one.

 | DeathRattle (1) 04/28/2002 | Possibly Megadeth's best album ever. From "Holy Wars....The Punishment Due" to "Rust In Peace.....Polaris," it's just one of those perfect albums that should be in every guitar fanatic's collection. Dave Mustaine proves on this album why he the master of speed metal, and honest and sarcastic lyrics. RIP has it all from political and religious views (Holy Wars), mandkind s a whole (Dawn Patrol) tortuous relationships (Tornado of Souls), and of course space aliens (Hangar 18) and magic powers (Five Magics). A bit of both reality and fanasty can be found here. Then of course there's the great guitar stylings of Dave (and Marty Frieedman) in all sorts of forms and stylings. MUST BUT! MUST BUY!.
