 | Molfan (57) 03/18/2008 | I like the BeeGees. but resent that when their name is mentioned they get labled as he disco guys. sure they made some disco songs but were around a decade before disco. they made some nice songs. Like the words, and the more gentle songs. I can take only so much of that high pitched voice. not my favorite group but do like some of their music.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 01/21/2007 | Do not count me in the marching ranks of Bee Gee fans, but you gotta admire them for, as old Honest Abe might say, fooling lots of people all the time.
The Brits have pulled off lots of musical misfeasance.

 | LadyShark4534 (12) 04/03/2004 | I have nothing against the BeeGees, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm a fan. In my opinion, Their music is okay, but not really my style.

 | nothingfroeer170 (0) 03/28/2004 | Canada sucks is the only gay bastard here, the Bee Gees are straight, eveidenced by their wives and not lame as they wouldn't have sold over a qaurter of a billion records. They are not only a womans group, idiot, there is as much truth in this as there is in comments by people who think that anyone under 40 shouldn't listen to their music (I'm 21, by the way) the only thing that sucks is some of these reviews. People who obviously haven't even listened to a recent album and think they're a disco band, when nothing could be further from the truth. Ans Canada rocks by the way, ignorant pig!!!!!!!!!!

 | CanadaSucks (45) 03/23/2004 | Oh, F&^*! Try and bang any girl at college after telling her you hate the Bee Gees. How this band has entranced women all over the world is one of the greatest mysteries of my small and inconsequential life. They are the gayest, lamest act ever. . .and I hear them at bars, weddings, and in my nightmares. And oh man, if you hate them you put up with more s#$$ than a sewage treatment facility.

 | CastleBee (81) 03/21/2004 | I hate them, they suck, they're the greatest ever, they should be canonized, they should be taken out and shot. What are we really saying here folks? That we all have our own tastes and opinions and, the last time I heard, the right to express them? Ive enjoyed listening to the Bee Gees through the years both older stuff and new. I won't try to justify my reasoning to anyone though. As with all things in art, entertainment and human relations there IS nothing very logical about it. You can quote everyone from the most self-satisfied musical critic to your drunken buddy at the bar down the street and it wont make one bit of difference people like what appeals to their own personal combination of experiences, feelings and imaginations. Its individual, relative and personal. And, if you are completely honest, how you feel about these things can never be dictated by what Mr. or Ms. Knowitall has to say about what you should or should not accept as worthy. YOU know better than anyone so, rather than wasting time sending whiny email to convince someone of what they already know try declaring and defending it yourself. You really dont need anyones validation.

 | StanUzbeck (14) 03/05/2004 | Let's come to grips with reality here. The Bee Gees suck beyond all reason. They can't even be considered the yardstick by which all things that suck can be measured, because they are several orders of magnitude beyond most things that suck. They were totally terrible and derivative and representative of everything that was lame and pathetic about the 60's and 70's. And yes, I've heard samplings of them from all stages of their 40 year career, and their entire body of work uniformly sucks. Vocal harmonies are pretty cool if they involve people with a variety of vocal ranges, unlike the vocal harmonies that occur when two or three off-key castrati are warbling meaningless nonsense over top of canned beats. I can almost accept a universe where there are people who don't mind the Bee Gees, but anyone for whom they are a 'sacred cow' should be place on an iceberg somewhere and forgotten about.

 | Enkidu (37) 03/04/2004 | Always sounded to me like they had something wrapped a little too tight around their nuts. Incredibly popular when I was an undergraduate, and like most incredibly popular things, incredibly stupid.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 02/29/2004 | Okay, I'll admit I like a handful of their songs. However, if you play How Can You Mend A Broken Heart in my presence, you might want to stand clear, because it gives me an overwhelming urge to wretch.

 | tvtator (5) 02/27/2004 | Just face facts, the Bee Gees were the greatest band ever in the history of rock or any music genre. Better than Elvis, better than The Beatles, better than Warren Zevon, better than Eric Clapton, better than B.B King, better than The Band. Bow down to their greatness. I like the Bee Gees, I always have but I have a strong love for music of all kinds, I listen to everything from Jimmy Durante to Eminem. I think it's ridiculous and annoying that pond scum would attack or get their panties in a wad because some viewers hate the Bee Gees. Grow up. They are just a band, they didn't save the world, or provide a cure for cancer or doing anything great except sing and provide entertainment. If you like them, fine, if you don't then that's fine.

 | abichara (60) 02/27/2004 | I didn't realize that something as inconsequential as a defunct band from the 1970's would inspire such vitriol!

 | scarletfeather (47) 02/27/2004 | These guys sound like a bunch of crickets, and I can't imagine listening to them for any sustained length of time. I think they had a few decent hits back in the 60s when they were trying to be folksingers. But their stint as 70s disco kings is best forgotten. That the Brothers G have a pocket of fans who hurl vile threats at Irishgit for criticizing them, shows that their adherents possess a demented streak.

 | irishgit (138) 02/27/2004 | They were probably the worst band to achieve the greatest long term commercial success, and boy do they have some fans on RIA prepared to shank you if you say so. I have a collection of twelve personal messages from such fans, swearing at me and hoping for such things as my suicide or my parents to be killed in a car accident. Charming folks.
