Uhh, yeah. That's why 18th century sailors used to be given grog instead of pure water. They laced it with rum to keep it from coing stale (among other things). It kept the sailors happy and brought us the term groggy.

I hate to disappoint, but on this planet, for all the good it does, it still goes flat gets stale.
