The action or lack thereof does however create emotions, usually negative ones, which impairs our senses and reason, and cause us to do or say things that usually we will be sorry of when emotions subside and reason takes over.

 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 02/18/2008 | It's fine to hate what a given person stands for, or the actions/attitude of said person. However, we should really watch it in saying we hate anyone. "Hate" is a word that is used carelessly and loosely. It packs a powerful wallop, and much of the time, it's not in a good way. If we hate someone, it's the same as being a "murderer at heart" (quote from Ray Comfort).
God loves everyone equally, and grants everyone, as long as they are still drawing breath, the same opportunity to change their lifestyle and way of thinking. It's easier said than done, but with His help, we, His people, can learn to pray for even the "unlovable" and have concern for their souls. Then the hate will gradually disappear, and we'll grow in the love of God.
According to Luke 18:27, nothing is impossible with God.
