 | Randyman (103) 05/22/2005 | I don't always liked to be surprised. It just depends on what it is really. I hate bad suprises. On the other hand when I get a check in the mail or some other money I wasn't expecting, then I am pleasantly surprised.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 02/10/2005 | I don't like surprises! Whether it's good (winning the lottery) or bad (a death in the family).

 | CastleBee (81) 01/19/2005 | I always hated when someone would jump out at me or run up behind me and shove me in a pool. However, I really loved being surprised at Christmas or my birthday so I never tried to sneak a peek at the presents. So, yeah, this is one of the better emotions - if you can anticipate a positive outcome.

 | helmut (16) 01/19/2005 | It really doesn't matter what the surprise is. Shock is pretty much the same across the board. At least the initial reaction is the same in most situations. By the time a real reaction sets in, a different emotion like joy or anger, then surprise is no longer the predominant emotion. Yeah, it may take a while to get over, but it is not the same as the new reaction to what happened.

 | kamylienne (77) 01/18/2005 | Well, it depends. Do you mean like Surprise! We threw you a birthday party!, or Surprise! Someone stole your car and drove it into a ditch!?
