I discovered Hugh Laurie first in the Black Adder series, then in the Jeeves and Wooster series. He's hilarious. I have seen a bit of House and find it too unimaginative and to restrictive of Laurie's comedic talents. Here's a taste of his abilities in parody.

I just recently starting watching House. I get a huge kick out of watching Hugh laurie act as house. he's so good at being a grump. He's very good with the American accent!

This cynical-sounding actor is very well-educated and talented. Dr. House may be one of those most mysterious characters on television, and I can't get enough of him!

Hugh Laurie to me has done such a wonderful job playing the roll of "House". Himself being from britian and having the voice of someone from there has done an amazing job of hiding it. i didnt even know that he had an acsent untile i bought the season DVDs and watched the special features.. plus "house is hot!!!!"

Brillaint Brilliant Brilliant...these are the words that describe Mr Laurie. From Blackadder to House he has always been entertaining and enjoyable. An intelligent and thoughtful man, he is (nearly) always thoughtful and respectful of others and their achivements. God, Hugh...you make actors proud

Hugh Laure is such a marvelous actor - from playing blumbling upper-class twits to a misanthropic medic. It's bittersweet that not many people had noticed this acting range that he's been hiding (nurturing) for the past 20 years. Then maybe we could have been treated to more wonderful dramatic works from him earlier.

Snarky, witty and suited to his character to a tee, Hugh Laurie is fantastic. You have to wonder where House begins and Hugh ends because he plays him with such ease. Also I never would have guessed he was British!

love him as house!

I think the 2nd season adds a bit more chaotic feel to House, maybe it's a bigger scheme that Stacy is so close (in the hospital), and his addiction will continue to deepen, so he acts crazier than the 1st season. But at the same time, it's a lot of fun to see where all these are heading. I for one will stay put and get entertained every week now it's back on schedule.

just watched my idol in the first show of the 2nd season of HOUSE. am stunned . he blew it. has lost his rythym, is overacting, making faces, has made house cocky and cute, and lost the undercurrent of sadness - somebody tell him!

He is sooooo good looking and he can do anything...he can do me too if he wants!!!!

I THINK HE IS A WONDERFUL ACTOR! JUST FOUND OUT HE WAS THE DAD IN THE STUART LITTLE MOVIES 1 AND 2...HOPE TO SEE MORE OF HIM ON AMERICAN TV.....

I am hooked on this show. Reminds me of the old old show of Dr. Kildare. I don't remember the actor. He was an older guy in a wheel chair. Same type of quality only House is updated. Quanlity show, Quanlity Actor!!

The best actor on TV right now. He has the ability to single-handily carry a show. Laurie is also a writer, director and musician. Despite the fact that he is old enough to be my father, I would marry him in a heartbeat.

Great actor. He can do it all.

Hugh Laurie has no equal on American TV this season;sensitivity, nuance, rhythm, and humor are hallmarks of his charismatic performance on House.

Hugh Laurie is one of the most amazing actors of our time. Not only is he on target as an American in House M.D., the producers of the show didn't even know he was British when they heard the audition tape. House is the FOX Network's must-see-tee-vee new program.

I'd never heard of Hugh Laurie before, but I've sure heard of him now! He is marvelous in his portrayal of HOUSE on FOX. I have never seen any actor portray lameness to such gut-wrenching accuracy. He NEVER gets it wrong! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!!
Skizero 01/19/2005
isn't this guy just Dr. Cox from Scrubs, in a drama?
del264 01/19/2005
Hugh Laurie is brilliant! A great comedian, a wonderful dramatic actor... His performance on House (FOX, Tues 9PM) as the ornery title character shouldn't be missed!

Hugh Laurie has taken America by storm with his brilliant portrayal of the delightfully likable misanthrope Dr. Gregory House.
jennanoelle 01/18/2005
I think Hugh Laurie is an outstanding actor and I have seen him in a few things.
soshell00 01/18/2005
He's a good actor who is so versatile. Going from Blackadder to House is a leap and he does it quite nicely.
