I love their sound...a fun, party band but...they just don't cut the mustard enough to get into the HOF...

Since Huey Lewis and the News are simplistic pop crap with as much depth as a petrie dish, of course they belong the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That's who makes up 80 per cent of the inductees, so they'd fit right in.

For everybody I rate on this list, I tend to preface it w/the fact that the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame sucks and is a complete sham. If I hear Huey Lewis on the radio, I may or may not listen. Anyway, I was at my friend Jay's house maybe ten years ago or so, and I was looking at his parents' cd collection, and naturally they had 'Sports'....three or so cds down from that was another copy of 'Sports.'

True rock and rollers. Great dancing music. Good beat and always a good listen.

Hard to believe they have not already been inducted.

One of the coolest live acts ever.

how could they not be voted in ? with so many number one hits you cant even say huey lewis without someone knowing at least one of their songs! the boys still tour the country every year . they still put out a new record every couple of years! how many bands from the eighties can you say have stayed together all these years without fighting amongst themselves.
they should have been one of the first bands to be voted in.
huey and the boys you have my vote!!
keep up the great work love ya!!!!

I realize that these guys had about 5,084 hits, and were probably nice guys and all that but approximately 0 of their tunes were any good. I would put in ( these names are real btw) the Stooges/ MC5 era Detroit band The Charging Rhinoceros of Soul and the early 70's California hippie group called I shit you not, THE BLACK SHIT PUPPY FARM, before I'd put this bunch in- and neither of those bands actually got to the point where they recorded!

First album I ever bought was 'Four'. It's still in my top 10 of all time!
duckyboy 02/23/2006
Experimental, edgy, excellent. Thought they were in already.

Musically, they had so little to offer, but tried so hard to be liked. More pathetic than endearing. Nope.

Fun 80's pop rock but not profound enough for the Hall.

Huey Lewis is one of the first artist that I remember seeing on MTV. He had a number of great song in the 80's like Power of Love and Do You Believe In Love. Huey Lewis and The News should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
