I admit this rating's harsh and does reflect Richie Unterberger pointing out they are not likely to get in, but their acclaimed album "Forever Changes" is really rather soppy. Regardless of whether others mourn Lee and his English counterpart Syd Barrett, neither of them could sing. Their voices are too devoid of emotion or any other quality to make them worth much at all, and the music sounds thin.

Everyone loves this band -- Robert Plant said that Forever Changes is his favorite album. I've got it, and don't really get what everyone is so crazy about.

They have no realistic shot at getting in, but their first three albums are great, especially Forever Changes, and their subsequent material is better than most reviewers and critics claim. Phenomenal lyricists/ vocalists in Arthur Lee and Bryan McLean. In a category with Moby Grape, The Move, Family, The Pretty Things, etc as 60's bands that the average fan doesn't know about, but should.

OMG! I bought Forever Changes in the discount bin last week. It is the most amazing album I have ever heard. It's better than Sgt. Peppers and Dark Side Of The Moon by leaps and bounds. Absolutely phenomenal! This band gets my vote for sure!
