Being one of the most influential guitarists of all time, and coming up with some of the greatest riffs we have today such as Rock N' Roll and Whole Lotta Love, and writing anthems like Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir. Popularizing the famous ES-1275 (now the EDS-1275) Gibson double neck guitar, that they say no one can even play without being compared to the dark lord of the strings. And of course the 1958 Gibson Les Paul that he can be seen running a violin bow across. With out a doubt, Jimmy Page is one of (if not thee) best ever to live.

His work may be a bit sloppy at times but then again so was Hendrix's! A defeintive hard rock guitar player and far better then many mre in this category, especially for the age in which it was done. But where is Tonny Iommi on this list! He was the godfather of metal axework - this raises the question, were Zepellin even metal? I have to in the main say no, bar elements of II, IV and Physical... they never rocked out to a REALLY hard riff like Sabbath did on so many occasions. Still a class player though.
