Very weak bass playing. Poor performance on that dreadful live album"The song remains the same".

He was a decent bassist, but obviously was outshadowed by the utter brilliance of Page and Bonham. Sadly, his songwriting skills are doubtful, as his biggest influence was on their last album, which was somewhat sketchy...

John Paul was subtle yet effective. He new when to stand out and when to be rock steady...If you have any question about his flashy ability check out his solo albumns....it makes Les Claypool look silly, for all you guys who think that being flashy makes you better?.....John Paul is a great all around musician and very under-rated...He has helped to write Zeppelin's most memorable riffs....Black Dog, No Quarter etc.

He wrote almost all the songs on In through the Outdoor - my favorite Led Zep album.

A very capable (if understated, due to his personality) member of Zep's flowing rhythm section.

This guy, along with Bonham, was the better half of Zep.Sorry,fans-I for one am sick and tired of Page/Plant getting all the credit.Jones & Bonham were about the most powerful rhythm section ever!Jones is an absolute MONSTER Bassman.
