i do find this annoying. it is a fact that cell phone users who drive at the same time can cause accidents. this falls under the category of being distracted. Guess i cannot understand why talking on the phone has become so important. from what i see this is not even business just chatting. you cannot even wait until you get home or are in a parking lot. how self absorbed. unless it is an emergency and cannot wait. what is the big deal with phones? they have been around all of our lives. just because you can now take them with you yakking on the phone all of the time has become THAT important? no thank you! I hear that some places are considering making some laws about banning talking on cell phones while driving. where can I sign the petition if there is one?

I wouldn't do it myself because I think it's really unsafe to do, but it's nothing out of the ordinary to see this on an every day occurrence.

As I have said elsewhere; there are few too many people who can pull this off safely for me to change my mind on the issue...Don't talk and drive! Pull the car over or call them back when you get to where you're going...

I think most of us are guilty of that one as well. Somehow, I think in certain situations it'sa good thing(e.g. if you late somewhere, if you have sudden change of plans, if you lost) Saying that, most people abuze the usage of a cell phone simply because they are bored.

In extention of the last topic, some people can handle talking on a cell phone and driving. Inevitably, your reaction time is going to be reduced somewhat because your mind is in other places. Granted, there are quite a few people who cannot handle this, these are usually the types who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. The reality is that using a cell phone in a car is about as dangerous as using a car radio. The bottom line is that anytime you take your eyes off the road, reaction time is going to be reduced. Should we ban all radio's in cars then? There are a lot of bad drivers out there unfortunately, heck I even have a list of bad driving habits that is still a work in progress!

I lost count of how many times these jerks have nearly caused a serious accident.

Driving is already too difficult for some people to do when alert. I once personally caused an because I was on the phone. I now make it a point to pull over if I ever really need to make a call. As for incoming calls, , I have a hands free headset that, when plugged in, puts my phone on auto-answer. If you can do it that's fine, but I can't and still feel safe.

Is a phone call really that important that you have to take it whilst driving and endangering other road users?

Alright, fine. Guilty. I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you. I'm not guilty of the lipstick thing (some of you were wondering) but the 90 MPH thing, hey, sometimes I'm late.

The worst time is when you are at a 4 way stop and look over to see some bean brain deeply involved in conversatin and totally oblivious to his/her surroundings. Then, when IF they decide to move they do it at such a slow speed you think they'll never quiet make it. I have no desire to own a firearm - but there are times I swear I would love to have a paint ball gun.
