I cannot lie - I use to know the guy. Not all too well, but well enough. Long before he did Smashing Pumpkins he was in a band called the Marked and I used to live with the bass player from the band and his girlfriend. I was never at all close with Corgan nor personally impressed with him; instead I mostly hung out with the bassist and drummer from his band. But I will say this, even then, Corgan was an excellent guitar player, and I respected his abilities. However, on a personal level I kept my distance. He was a user who if you let into your home and took a shower, he would eat everything in your refridgerator before you came out. Very opportunistic. He was also a shrewd businessman even back then. Ironically, of the three guys in his band, I thought he was the least talented or original, but he was also the least ethical, and believe me, that will get you far in the music industry. Years later upon running into him accidently in a Chicago nightclub where my band was playing the following night, I kept it brief. What are you doing here? he asked. I'm here on business I curtly replied. What kind of business? he inquired. It's a secret, I dryly stated and moved on. By then the Pumpkins had broken big, but I had no use for superficial conversation from him. I still don't.

This guy sounds like a whiney middle school kid who needs his Dad to put him in his place.Tantrum music!

No way. He may be in my favorite band (APC), but I can only stand his voice when it's drowned out by Maynard's far-superior vocals. As the main singer, I would die listening to his nasally, whiney voice for a whole song through.
