 | LadyJesusFan777 (34) 06/09/2007 | They sure can be a nuisance, but I'd rather have ants in my kitchen than mice.

 | Mr.Political (18) 02/21/2005 | Ants are perhaps the only insect I can stand. Where I live their harmless, tiny black ants that while I still don't like them in the least, I can tolerate them. There are worse things on this list...

 | jgls (12) 09/18/2004 | the only time i have a problem with them is on those summer days when it is over 100 degrees. they get into any food that is left out which unfortunately included the food i leave out for my doggies.

 | Sundiszno (30) 04/12/2004 | Ants normally don't bother me, unless theyre in the house. Outside, I go out of my way not to disturb them. I'l keep the chili powder remedy in mind. Another thing that supposedly deters them is cucumber skins - something about pyrethrins (correct spelling?) in the skin that is like a natural repellent to ants. Trouble is that when the skins dry out, I think they lose their effectivness. They're also sort of messy to lay around an entry point. Chili powder sounds like a better idea.

 | Jed1000 (72) 03/05/2004 | You can stop them in their tracks (I'm referring to kitchens here)if you sprinkle Chili powder at their point of entry. Honest.. it works.

 | kolby1973 (32) 03/04/2004 | The 2nd worst insect I have encountered in Florida, cockroaches are number one. The ants here are mean, and they don't play games when they bite. The fire ants can make a mess out of your legs and feet if you accidentally walk into a bunch of them in your yard. Always wear shoes in Florida if you aren't at the beach. (Actually, you are probably safer wearing shoes on the beach, too).

 | Enkidu (37) 03/04/2004 | These are a problem where I live--any time it is too wet or too dry outside, or they just feel like being a nuisance, if you miss that first scout you can be sure to be welcomed home by regiments of the neurotic little pismires.
