Rich Gannon didnt gain success until the latter part of his career. He put up OUTSTANDING numbers from 1999-2002. The old man's phenominal year was in 2002. The 37 yr old brought the Raiders to the Super Bowl that year (even tho he threw 5 interceptions lol in it) with numbers like: 4689 passing yards, 26 TDs, and only 10 Intercepetions! Not a HOFer but has solid career numbers.

Rich Gannon is the best quarter back to play in the NFL. he had the most accurate pass ever, its just no wide recievers to help him all he had was Tim Brown. but when you look at his team how can he do good? Gannon is the best and that is that!

boo hoo. All I've ever seen Rich Gannon do is cry and yell at his own teammates. That's a real winner for ya.

Alot like Jeff Garcia in that the short passing game makes him statistically successful. Cannot throw the deep bowl with any accuracy or zip. The Superbowl was his chance to elevate to superstar status. However, those 5 interceptions took care of that.

His footwork and mechanics aren't exactly textbook, his arm strength and accuracy are mediocre, but he'll release quickly, dump it off to the flats and short routes. He's good within the West Coast system they've got. He'll spread the ball around. When the play breaks down, he really shines. He'll turn bad situations around by scrambling. The other side of that, though, is that he's very impatient in the pocket. If his primary isn't open, he'll take off and run. He doesn't go through the progressions.
