I would honestly deal with it. I would get involved and try to help. I may get killed, but if I didn't try I couldn't live with myself.

Going back as far as I can remember, even in my adolescent and teenage years I hated a bully. Especially if it dealt with someone who was unable to protect themselves. I think its because I was a skinny small young lad and got picked out by bullies a lot. I was wirey and tough though and usually made them sorry they did at some point. Most bullies are pure cowards and arent as tough as they pretend to be. I would never stand by and watch a bully do his thing. Nowadays its different because people get killed instead of just beaten up. But I still dont think I would stand around and do nothing. Id like to think that if I asked for help to handle a situation like this now, someone with guts and charachter would lend a helping hand.

I'm reading a lot of tough talk here- but I don't believe it. Most people walk away from this because involvement means a kicked ass or lower social status in school. And most of you cared about one or both of those things. This is a forum for honesty, not your William-Wallace fantasies of redemption and justice.

In high school, I usually defended the underdog or the one being picked on, but sometimes they would say something rude where they deserved to be picked on.

Not all jocks are dumb but not all smart kids or girls are innocent. Some jocks can be respectful; some smart kids can be smart-alecks. It varies.

Threaten to call the police.(This will stop most juveniles cold.)

Make the jocks feel little.

If the Nerd ws getting blackjacked and was going into convulsions,I'd try to help them out. Otherwise, it's not my place to intervene.

It depends on the circumstances. Did the kid provoke the jock? Or are they going out of their way to give the smart kid a hard time?

Depends on whether or not the smart kid or girl seemed able to stand up for themselves. I wouldn't want to embarrass the person by stepping in when I'm not needed.

I would distract the jocks by getting them involved in a conversation about something they liked.

I admit I'm a fighter for the underdog, but brains usually beats muscle, so they can handle themselves.

I would inform the nearest authorities to assist. If I had superpowers or the upper hand, rescue the innocent and turn the guilty over to the law.

. . . if they're smart, they could handle themselves.

I have to admit I would intervene and put a stop to it.

How do we know the jocks are dumb? Maybe the kid is stupid and he provoked the jocks and deserved it? Perhaps the jocks are not so dumb, maybe they are tired of being called dumb jocks.
