More of a blaxploitation character than a token, the street smart Huggy Bear couldn't get much more stereotypical for the mid-1970's. Certainly the producers intentionally cast an African-American for the role to attract a wider audience, but the character was a bit more substantial than a typical token would have been. In the end, 3 stars for Huggy Bear as one who is hard to label one way or the other. Antonio Juan Fargas (aka Huggy Bear) was born August 14, 1946 in New York City.

In the new Starsky and Hutch, Huggy Bear is played by Snoop Dogg. What a great guy to play the part.
