ItemImageDragon's Lair was released in 1983 by Leijac and was the first animated laser disc game. Dragon's Lair played like a movie. Instead of controlling the character like a normal arcade game players would simply direct the character in various situations. Although the game featured numerous possible events and outcomes an experienced player could complete the entire game in less than 15 minutes.

Although it had great graphic, the game that we had in the store the laser disc would allways freeze the game and I don't know how many guys kicked it every time it happened.

I had never played this game in the arcade because it looked too difficult, and there was always a line for it. But the graphics beat everything else out there. Although if I remember correctly, it was the first (or one of the first) games out there that ran on some sort of CD or early DVD and used video, which is why the graphics were so awesome. It looked like a fun game to play though.

I can't believe a game that was purely a novelty even made this list. It had no game play value whatsoever.
