04/20/2005 | The Red Sox had a brand new ballpark, called Fenway, and they got a pennant and a Series title to go with it. One of the most exciting series ever featured an 11 inning tie in game 2, necessitating an eighth game. In that deciding contest Giant stars Fred Merkle and Fred Snodgrass made crucial errors, allowing Boston to score 2 runs for a come from behind victory in the bottom of the tenth inning.
