I like Simon. Not even a little, but a lot! Not just as a judge, but also as a person. I think he means well. I appreciate & respect his honesty. I love how he can deliver negative information with no emotion. We could be best friends! I would feel right at home with him; as at least I would not be walking on egg shells around him, afraid to say what is on my mind. He's the man! :) I'd rather tell someone the truth and risk hurting their feelings, as opposed to lying to them and letting them go on acting like an ass.

Yeah, Simon's perky man-boobs are very scary.
pugwash01 04/25/2007
Most don't like him because he speaks his mind, but on most occasions he has been right! I don't like the way he tells people that they can't sing or that they have sung badly. But that is what a judge is!!!! He would not be the successful man he is in the music industry, if he did not split the bad from the good!!!!
brn2ovrcm 04/25/2007
Simon does make good calls once in awhile, but I find that if the music genre isn't to his personal liking he automatically gives it a thumbs down.A judge of talent should have a broad taste in music. If you have to judge music type that you really don't appreciate,in all fairness, you shouldn't be judging that music.I find him to be obnoxious at times and other times he is likewise entertaining.
Donovan 04/24/2007
He is a big part of the show. Simon does have an ear for success but 75% of what he does is theatrics as it is with much of the American Idol show itself. Controversy sells and as long as Simon is the way he is people will watch.
Schadenfreudia nSlip 04/24/2007
I still think he's got a hair weave...notice how either side of his head isn't totally flush, as if there's a(n unatural) break there somewhere. (Okay, I'll go get a life now...I hear it's 2 for $4 at Safeway.)
GenghisTheHun 04/03/2007
Once in a while, my trusty dog, Fido, steps on the tv clicker and this show comes on as a result. Without Simon Cowell, this trash would be a little higher class Gong Show.
X Factor Z 04/03/2007
I like Simon personally, but in this American Idol, he really screwed up with poor judgement, passed some lame performers while probably passing on Scooter Girl...I'm still mad about that! Oh, SC also passed on Taylor as well. Typical music industry executive who has thrust such halfassed talent on us like Britney Spears and Ashlee Simpson, most of these people like style over substance irregardless of talent and most are probably tone death anyway.
StatMans28 06/01/2006
He's ok i guess. There is good points and bad points about him. Good Point- He is honest and tells bad singers that they are just plain bad. I'll admit it is good to see him reject spoiled beautiful women who think there all that who are also bad that they are bad. The egotist that they are they will say simon is an ***hole and they are good because there thinskinned and not used to being told no. It's fun to see spoiled brats get a taste of the real world. Bad Points- He does seem hypocrital sometimes even though i don't dislike him. For instance , on one interview he says he's cruel to be kind. However, he told a gay guy to shave off his beard and where a dress. Now that doesn't sound cruel to be kind to me. It sounds like he's trying to make his comments more malicious because that's what the audience likes to see ( people going on that show to be humiliated as opposed to seeing singing talent). People like to see controversy and people striking out instead. It makes for higher ratings. That is the real reason simon makes these snarky comments. It's for ratings for fox. However, i have heard he is a good guy in real life and super good to the fans. I think it's all an act of his anyhow. For instance the fistfight he almost got into randy and the time he walked off offstage screams " all staged out". I still think he's awesome as a critic despite his sometiems unnecessary untactful comments.
blozzy 03/28/2006
simon rocks. i hate paula and i hate ryan seacrest.
jen33 03/15/2006
he never says something that is even a little off.
gameram 03/10/2006

thedreams 02/28/2006
Simon is extremely professional in what he does, but can be quite British sometimes. Well done for being truthful!
boots,ashleigh ,andfe 02/04/2006
simon is funny but it is hurtful for th people.Like he says bad stuff to ugly people this is what i think simon's not that cute so he shouldn't be talkind bad about anyone else.
gamerman 01/31/2006
The problem is that Simon tries to be more "shocking" each season by saying more bizarre things. For example, so far this season, Simon has told every gay male contestant that they should be drag performers. The year before that, he said Beyonce had no talent and that she needed to lose weight.
joshua_01 12/13/2005
American idol wouldnt be jack sh**t if it wasnt for simon, simon cowell is hated on cause he tells it like it is and people say he is so mean but if u know u cant sing and u suck so bad that its funny then why would he be all nice about it simon makes the show a lot funner and funnier to watch because of is funny comments and they are all true. I just love how simon well express his opions with out being all nice about it.
Neo17_2005 12/10/2005
Get out of U.S. TV, Simon Coward!
kattwoman 07/05/2005
simon tells it how he sees it and he is one reason this show became so popular. everyone wanted to hear what he would say next. i think he has mellowed though he didn't seem to make as many comments good or bad. he would just smile
fantasyfan90 07/04/2005
Greatest judge ever! Without Simon, there's really no point to watching the show.
thechallenger 06/14/2005
I love how Simon tells the truth. These people who think that there greeat singers have the ner ve to audition in front of Simon Cowell and expect him not to say anything there as dumb as they are terrible singers and if thats all it takes to dash there dreams is Simon Cowell than theyve obviously got a problem.
NJcoastergrl 05/05/2005
Simon is so funny!! he is very honest about what he says in funny ways! and it is all true, I probaly wont even watch American idol if it wasnt for him!!
Kaneohekilla 04/10/2005
Even if his comments were wrong he is honest and at the end he givess you the check
Mr Evangel 03/03/2005
Keep it up Simon!!!!
kuntrymusikfn1 6 02/28/2005
He may be mean but at least he's honest. He doesn't try to butter up the contestants like the other judges tend to do. Most of the time I agree with what he says, if it weren't for him the really bad singers would stay on the show.
JRedick'sGirlf riend~ 02/27/2005
mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maomania 02/27/2005
Simon is usually correct. And I have no problem about him being honest. But sometimes he just can be mean, and his comments are not helpful but insulting. Example: The only thing he had to say to one of Amy Adams performances was You look like Jay Leno. Okay, and now what? He is important to the show though and he knows it.
hpluba 02/12/2005
He's the reason I watch American Idol. If it weren't for him being honest, this show would be so boring. And besides, it helps people know what they need to improve in their singing. At times though, he goes too far.
Seraph 01/26/2005
The thing about Simon is, he rarely ever lauds a performance, but when he does...you know he means it. The man doesn't try to sugarcoat anything, and at times he can be flat-out hilarious. The Antiques Roadshow comparison from last night was right on target.
me120585 01/16/2005
A mean, mean guy. He doesn't just tell it like it is, he says things in a rude horrible way that shouldn't be rewarded.
tocwelsh 12/24/2004
Good judge but can be very personal with comments that do not relate to the singing contestants.......
jazzybee 09/21/2004
Simon doesn't sugar coat the truth, he doesn't mince words! If you stink, he will let you know, Don't get mad just because he tells it like it is.
PTRoxieMisha 08/23/2004
Believe me - I do agree with him most of the time. He knows what he's talking about, unlike Paula Abdul.
Crzy4Kelly 08/13/2004
He is so real he knows what he is talking about he is big time 4 stars
eric04 07/30/2004
He is, quite frankly, the only thing keeping me watching the show at this point. A brilliant man, tells it like it is and by the way, a good portion of what he does is just an act so cut him some slack.
reader11 05/30/2004
I think deep down Simon is a softy. Everyone expects him to be a villian, so he plays the part.
booboosnitsnit 05/27/2004
Dianadegarmofansy, you're an idiot. Figure out what real talent is, because it sure isn't Diana. Fantasia deserves to win it all, and LaToya should've been runner up, but there are too many idiots like you in America who are voting.
CherrySoda99 05/27/2004
There's really only two things you can say about Simon. Either you love him or you hate him. I think I'm the odd one in this bunch, because I'm neutral.
comedyfreek 05/26/2004
simply hilarious..candid..doesnt keep back anything..tells people the truth..and normally hes always right
fantasiaqueeno fsluts 05/21/2004
Kick his ass and send him back to Britain where all the worst singers are.
louiethe20th 05/20/2004
Very Honest and Candid!
dahkoolchik 05/19/2004
He speaks the truth. He told Jasmine she was bad.
fantasiaisbutt ugly 05/18/2004
Who cares about the remaining three. Fantasia is UGLY, Diana is FAT, Jasmine is PITCY. Lets just protest and not watch american idol.
STARofAI 05/16/2004
Why won't he judge the style(only thing he's good at)only, instead of focusing on insults.
fartalotjames 05/16/2004
He tells it like it is. Everything he says has been totoally right should even be voted as the king of music. People dis-respect him but he is being payed not to be mean but to tell what he thinks and what he thinks is always right. No one has been more (on) then Simon Cowell and isnt compareed to any other judge on the show.
BeObjective 05/14/2004
Simon is the master of appealing to the lowest common denominator. I have got to give him credit for being a marketing genius, witness the success of the flash-pan Spice Girls and now the franchise of Idol in more than ten countries. This guy is a successful businessman period. But like other successful franchises e.g. McDonalds, lots of quality has been sacrificed. Is listening to a candidate for 15 seconds really enough to judge his or her talent? I dread to think of all the diamonds in the rough who have been passed over and discouraged so severely because Simon thinks they deserve being castigated for even showing up that their artistry will never see the light of day. If he can't or doesn't want to give constructive criticism, then a simple Thank You would suffice. No need to be arrogant, nasty, and pretentious. What makes people like Simon think they are the keepers of TALENT? Just because they have produced certain one-hit McMusic artists that flood the market? It's people like Simon, who represent all those parasitics music-industry executives, that deserve knocking, not young artistes. I am so glad that we have the Internet today and, instead of the fake democratization on Idol, musicians can prove their worth by sharing their work directly with the world without all these industry free-riders.
dianadegarmofa nsy 05/13/2004
You go Simon keep it up. Do not be like Randy and Paula who shows their biased opinions to their own favorites. I had barely heard any bad comments coming from them for La Toya and Fantasia. They were always on attack to Diana who really deserves to be the idol winner.
s-cubed 05/12/2004
Simon tells it like it is. No holes barred. It is good for the performer knows the truth and not be passified by soothing words. He is very good and I like his frankness (most of the time).
alpepper 05/12/2004
Simon sez, Cry, little monotone diva! Brutally honest; sometimes downright viscious. 99 out of 100 times, he is right on target in terms of assessing musical telent. He is the single reason I watch the show. His autobiography is excellent. He is a very insightful guy.
rebekahgilley 05/11/2004
Simon is a great judge he is the center of the whole American Idol he is the one to make it so popular.
a_r8r_named_ni ka 05/10/2004
I believe that Simon makes every American Idol candidate a true, deserving winner. These people become challenged by him, thus working harder and performing better. With him around, they become strong. And that's a trait a true Idol should have.
