I am not a fan of Fantasia, due to I don't listen to her type of music.   I did not see her season I just read about her here and there, none of her songs where ever on the radio.but I thought, wow she must have been good to win season 3.(I know,how niave on my part) well good for her gettin out of the ghetto,I thought.

Fast forward a year or so,Im at the local Barnes and Noble and much to my surprise I see her book entitled "life aint' no fairytale" this  AFTER she won american idol season 3.I have not read the book,but I was appalled to see this movie on the lifetime movie network not because of said networks reputation of coarse but because after 5 minutes of watching this crap,she can't act,it is actually laughable,and it looked like they were making her into just another "victim" of society who happened to get knocked up god knows how,but through no fault of her own of coarse.I guess that is what they meant by "life aint no fairytale" like all the other american idol hopefuls are somehow born with a silver spoon in their mouthes.

You guys want to talk about talent, Jennifer Hudson is multi talented. Fantasia made her way to the top by begging the audience and the viewers with her sobbing and "I'm a single mother" bit. For you that try to make it into a racial thing, you need to shut the hell up. Jennifer Hudson is African American and you don't see me bashing her in. For all of you that say were haters, this must be coming from idiots that defend her because either you look like her or she reminds of you. Meaning non talented oxy morons that wish they could be her but can only manage to look up to her because a non talented individual made it as an american idol by asking for pity. Obviously it worked, constantly bringing up that she was a single mother and was broke and comes from the projects. Please......Jennifer Hudson made it by peforming and not trying to get pity from the viewers. She sings like an angel and acts hell of alot better than Beyonce, may i add jennifer hudson is hot. You could yammer all you want about Fantasia being the best singer ever, but it still doesn't change the fact that Jennifer Hudson (7th place finish) stole her thunder with the Dreamgirls Oscar win. I always knew that Fantasia's win was a fluke when her main competition is bounced.

I was surprised when I learnt this girl was a winner from "American Idol" as I'm not really a fan of reality TV as the majority of it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't know how this show fares over in the States, but if this is the type of talent you have over there concerning TV shows, especially reality TV shows then the UK are seriously lagging behind. Bottom line this girl can sing. Whether she appeals to you or not she really and truly can sing. Her voice reminds me very much of Macey Gray's voice, a rarity, that diamond in the rough. If you ask me a lot of R&B singers today have music that is just repetitive, boring and almost formulaic so it's nice to see someone who's not sounding the same as everyone else or just sounds the EXACT same on every record *cough cough* Ciara and Ashanti.

Its not about race, its not about being a single mother. It doesn't matter if Fantasia was African-American, French, Asian, Latina... she just plain sucks. I can not comprehend how people can consider her YELLING and SCREECHING to be singing. She just isn't a good singer... plain and simple.

Terrible is not the words to describe just how horrible this woman sings. I don't know which was worse was it the fact that she was a terrible singer and she not only made it onto American Idol but she won or is it how screwed up in the head america is for even letting her go that far.

There are a lot of mad white people out there. Fantasia has a long way to go career wise. But, if she takes what she has learned from the idol experience in stride she will be just fine. Lots of white people do not understand the whole raspy voice thing. It's a soulful type of singing that black people have use since slavery. Most times when we sing we sing from our souls. So she is not going to coming of non-singing and poppy like Diana. Diana should have never made it as far as she did and I am from Georgia. Diana has a very nice personality. But this is a singing and performance competition, as far as I am concerned Fantasia had the whole package. This industry is very hung up on looks, generally Fantasia is a pretty girl, she is not the conventional pretty light skinned long blonde hair, but if she was what a boring world this would be. (ya dig) As far as her not having a diploma during the time in the competition, I feel it very important to finish school however you never know what one has to endure when finding one's self. So my hats off to her for keeping it moving and taking life in stride. Someone you look up to should be about what they are made of not what they have right there at that moment. I personally HATE her voice, it hurts my ears. Still I gotta give her 2 stars because she DOES have a great personality. Didn't like when they brought her daughter onstage though, seemed a bit unfair to me.

I feel sorry for people who feel that everyone we have to look at on the tv should fit into this stereotypical lightskinned, straight nose, long straight hair, big boobs, no cellutite look!! Is this the type of role model we want for our young black females? An arrogant, stuck on herself, single black mother. Being raised in the church shouldn't remove the skeletons from her closets. She should learn some humility before she falls flat on her butt.
