This version of the Reds get my vote as the best team in baseball history. It doesn't usually make for a great series when such a team appears, and this was no exception. The Big Red Machine was unstoppable, slugging .522 as a team, led by Johnny Bench's 1.133 slugging average. The Yankees would have needed the 1927 version of their boys to compete in this one.
