Weaver's Orioles were built on pitching, fundamentals and three run homers.

In this series they got two out of three, but the dingers never showed up. Willie Stargell led the Family back from a 3-1 game deficit with three homers, to take the series MVP.

A good one, in which The Pirates overcame a 3-1 lead by Baltimore by winning 3 games in a row. Baltimore was favored, though I have a hard time understanding why, the 2 teams look pretty evenly matched on paper. In retrospect, I'd actually give Pittsburgh the slight edge.

The fact that the Pirates came from behind to win and Willie Stargell hitting the game winning home run in the 6th inning proved to be the Orioles' downfall.
